How is that possible. I mean would you force yourself to believe about anything just for peace of mind! I believe piece of mind comes from you being honest with yourself and then you can be honest with others. Peace of mind lies in you!
No, its the other way around.
Your peace of mind is necessary to find your god.
The answer is multilayered. Belief in God is different than believing God. We can accept Gods existence yet remain ignorant or unbelieving of what he says. Therefore, ignorance and unbelief can result in a type of peace, but not necessarily one founded in truth. For the mind to be at peace it must be free of doubt, guilt, anger or fear. For this to genuinely occur one’s belief system must sufficiently resolve those questions, events and experiences that potentially lead to doubt, guilt, anger or fear. Simply believing IN God does not suffice, however, believing in what he says has sufficed for many. Death is an example of a topic potentially peace-destroying. We can find a degree of calm by disregarding God and ignoring what he says on the subject, but is that really peace, or wishful thinking. I think my answer only scratches the surface of this great question.
actually the belief in some god removes peace from a person's mind. believers worry about sinning, heaven and hell, life after death etc.,
To find God is to find Spiritual knowledge.... for He is a spirit. The "Mind" is material and is define by scientific equations of DNA,ELEMENTS,CELLS,ATOMS, NEURONS,AND MATTER.
"Spiritual knowledge" have none of the above.Yet,it have action and reactions, and have intelligence and personality.IT is supernatural, invisible and have form, and life.
Yes it does......
Because the negative answer will leave you in Limbo, for there would have been no need for the question in the first place...
Yes and no.
For some, believing in God allows them to confide in time of need and they will then receive peace of mind.
If a person is in control of himself/herself, then the person can control the emotion to have peaceful mind.
Belief in God does necessarily make you find peace, you need to go beyond believing in God. You need to trust and surrender everything to him, then you will find peace.
i would think it would help but its not necessary just becasue someone dosnet beleave in god dosent mean that they are not at peace
I cannot say about the peace of mind bit ... but its certainly necessary, for Peace in the Hereafter.
I think it is! I did not have peace until I believed in God on His terms, not mine. It has worked very well.

What if God does not exist? What if there is no God. What if he was the invention of humanity trying to control humanity. What if God is to people what Santa Claus is to kids - somebody not to piss off because you just wanna get your loot (or place in "Heaven") in the end.

I keep hearing and reading this phrase and I must confess it doesn't make sense to me. I know what "Believe" means and I know what "in" means. It's when the two words are put together I don't understand.Phrases like "Do you believe in God?" or; "I believe in...

Atheists, can you remember the moment you stopped believing in god?Obviously theism and atheism aren't switches that can be easily turned on or off. These kind of decisions are made after a lifetime of knowledge and experiences. But, as an atheist, can you remember the moment where it all added up?...

Christians, do you feel there is ever an acceptable reason for not believing in God?Do true Christians accept any reason as a legitimate reason for not having faith in God?

Ultimately, Christianity is a personal thing before a personal God, not the church. Could it just be that human beings are screwed up and like any other organization on the face of this earth, the church has its fair share of screw balls? To not believe because of a few pharisees is foolish. If we...
