Do you feel or have any proof that "nofollow" links still help your rank in the search engines?
Well nofolllow links don't help at all in the Google search engine. Matt Cutts said so himself in an official Google webmasters video. But I do believe the difference of dofollow to nofollow links has little to no effect in the other search engines
In this short hub I will explain the value of nofollow links in Google rankings. I will begin by explaining the surface information, and then delve in to what it means to webmasters and SEOs.
Google states that their engine takes "nofollow"... read more
I have proof that "nofollow" links are absolutely worthless because I have experimental data from websites. In fact, leaving comments and contributing to things like some of the new social media plugins can destroy your website i.e. you will see your site decrease in unique visitor numbers or see no growth at all. I was going to release experimental data for this and made a hub called "seo experiment" but will probably delete it because who is going to believe experiments and data from someone who does not work for Google?
in the eyes of google - no follow equates to NO LINK LOVE.
Matt Cutts said it himself on two occasions that Ive seen on youtube.
but...
on the other hand, msn and yahoo don't share that algorithm.
To be honest thou, I don't trouble myself to get ranked on MSN or yahoo.
I focus on google and the others come around.
So I give you the 7 commandments of backlinking
1. Get yourself do follow backlinks
2. Get backlinks from a VARIETY of sources
3. Use the anchor text for the keyword you are targeting - 90%
4. We rank PAGES and POSTS not websites
5. Leak and don't flood backlinks to your pages or posts
6. That being said, you should aim some backlinks to your main domain on a regular basis.
7. Get backlinks from both 0 to 5 PR sites.
Be well and good luck in your internet marketing endeavors.

I was moving a hub of mine that is a low performer here over to Squidoo and had as far as I was concerned deleted it here, however, now after republishing it at Squidoo, I have found it has been locked as duplicate content that already exists. If I look in my account files here it says it is...
