What lessons have we learned from the Casey Anthony trial?
With the recent verdict of 'not guilty' with respect to murder charges, but guilty with respect to lying to investigators, what lessons, if any, can we draw from the publicity of the original missing child, subsequent search, arrest, trial, and convictions?
Lesson: Don't come to trial as a prosecutor with a weak case and hope it sticks. Media attention never bodes well for a trial and always leaves the possibility that an appeal will be filed reference jury manipulation, tainting, poisoining, or whatever the legal term is. They had a long time to prepare for this trial and botched it. Better luck next time.
Document everything if someone becomes missing and you suspect fowl play. Only if Hailey's grandparents would have kept detailed notes.... and, never under estimate the power of reasonable doubt!
If you ever wanna commit a crime do what Casey did Lie to official's that will get you off.... Whatever she did to get off of First Degree Murder must have been something very not woman like....You know she had to bribe someone or even sleep with someone to get off of a crime like that when all the evidence was strong and pointing toward her.
They had no evidence against her for murder. They couldn't even say that Kaylee had been murdered. I know this is not the popular opinion, but Casey Anthony's jury did exactly what juries should do. The medical examiners that testified could not say how Kaylee died. So when the defense said Kaylee drowned, it was possible. There WAS reasonable doubt. ALL of the evidence was circumstantial at best. The most damning evidence seems to be that of the media's.
