   What are the advantages and disadvantages of "Refreshing" a computer time to time?

   We update the memory cache in order to get the latest value. RAM needs to be refreshed so that it retains the data for a longer time. As for web pages the data is stored in the cache, and refreshing the web page updates the cache with new set of information or values and the latest information is viewed.
   
   When your first go to that web page, it takes a lot of time to load, that is because it is saving the page in something called your cache. When you next visit the page, it loads the stuff in your cache. If something is changed on that web page, your computer doesn't care. Until you refresh the page. It wipes out the cache, and re-loads the page with the new content. That's why if you don't refresh pages, you get the old stuff

   Advantages: You clear out all the stuff you have accumulated over the years.  There are things like registry entries, old program processes and files that you do not use anymore.
   
   Disadvantages: You have to back everything up and re-install all your programs.  This can take awhile.

   The main memory of our computers is in two parts i.e. ram and rom. The ram is made up of flip-flops as it requires faster working while the rom is made up of mosfet capacitors. These capacitors carry data in form of charge stored in them. With time the charge in capacitors drains and hence the computer takes longer time to respond. When we refresh the computer, the capacitors get recharged thus increasing the data rendering rate. Also the cache memory,which is used for faster data locating gets rid of unused accumulated tags and labels and makes space for new ones thus increasing performance. Thus refreshing helps in fast data rendering. But kindly don't refresh your computer several times at the time of start up as the most peoples do. The result will be same whether you refresh one time or more.

   The dynamic RAM needs to be refreshed so that it retains the data for a longer time. As for web pages the data is stored in the cache, and refreshing the webpage updates the cache with new set of information or values and the latest information is viewed.
