Where am I going wrong ??

Hello everybody. I have 381 hubs at the moment. I could discount 130 of them as my first rushed hubs. The rest were more thought out, longer and with better and more information involved. I only link to my other hubs and promote ebay and amazon on several commercial hubs. I am currently reaching $100 per month. Is this average or below standard for hubpages ? Am I expecting to much, or am I missing a unique opportunity to earn much more ? Thank you for any comments given.

Well you seem to be very busy and doing really fine with your work. I hope your earnings increase, but I can think of few things I could do if I earned $100 a month from hubpages. I think you have done really well and I believe there is much more coming your way. On the other hand, I do not really have an answer just encouragement and admiration!

Hey billericky, you indeed are doing a great job here. I'm relatively new to Hubpages, but I have a bit of an idea about how earning through content publishing works. If you'd take suggestions from a novice:

    1. Look for the hubs by you that came out really well but didn't get enough attention. Promote them.

    2. Make sure that your best performing hubs (comments, votes, etc.) have highly relevant ads. Try to think of what kind of product would click the reader who just finished reading your hub (so, not 'just relevant').

    3. You do have an engaging style of writing already. Just improvise. And respond to the comments at your hubs consistently (which you may already be doing).

Happy for you and all the best for the better. smile

    Have fun.

You're doing much better than I.  How long have you been 'hubbing?'

Perseverance and practice will bring you the reward you are seeking. I would not be overly concerned with other people's standards and averages. Create your own. Perhaps theirs would not meet your needs and vice versa.

You are doing fairly well just make sure that you chose the right ads for each of your hub in order to increase click through rate of ads.

You aint doing anything wrong. Thats good  but you can do better. Ensure that your hubs are search engine optimized. You can begin to target hot niches as this will increase the chance of your hub being searched out and with proper SEO, you can attain a higher page rank, you get more traffic leading to more revenue

You are not promoting your hubs? I noticed on the 2 I looked at, there are no tweets or facebook "likes". I would suggest doing at least those 2 easy things.

You are a lot further along than I am, as I only have 22 hubs and have been here for 2 months, but facebook is a source of traffic for me, even after that initial surge I get when I first post a hub, sometimes it goes beyond my immediate circle and gets wider exposure.

Most of your hubs look like they would be popular topics. I love the one about Diving the Seychelle Islands. $100 a month is not bad, but a little promotion wouldn't hurt.
