   Worst experience when travelling:
   
   I'm Canadian, and when I go to A&W, I have special burgers such as the Mama Burger, teen Burger and so forth.
   So, when I when to America and ordered a Teen Burger.. The lady told me they don't sell them in America! I (not thinking) yelled, "What's wrong with America?!" only to get odd looks for the rest of the time I spent eating in the restaurant.
   I was so embarassed.

   Worst: Arriving at Chile immigration after the bus ride from the Argentine check-post to find  that my pouch with my passport, cash and everything else important was missing.
   
   Best: Finding that the two guys I had got talking to in the queue were in fact some sort of security officials. They arranged the bus to be searched and then made a radio call to the Argentine side to get my details. During that call they found that my pouch was there - I had stupidly left it on the counter after getting my passport stamped.
   
   These two amazing officials then arranged for me to get a temporary permit, a free ride to Santiago (with a note to tell the guesthouse I would only be able to pay later) and back the next day. We then had special permission to drive through no-mans-land and retreive my valuables. I wasn't even allowed to give the lady who kept my bag safe any kind of reward.
   
   That would have been simply fantastic but the hospitality didn't stop there. We were given lunch and a tour of the huskie dogs before driving back to the Chilean side.
   
   I could never thank my two benefactors enough. I did write to the Ministry of Foregn Affairs when I got back home with my sincere thanks for all involved. I just hope the special mention for these two helped their careers along.

   Best - China. Worst - China. The people of China were outstanding. The Americans we were grouped with were simply embarrassing.
   
   The most amazing overall was New Zealand and the gold coast of Australia.
   
   Having said all of that I have a very long list of places I have yet to travel so stay tuned...

   Worst..when our car was broken into at a shopping centre parking lot in Singapore and our bag (with passports) were stolen. It was a careless mistake on our part for leaving that small bag in the car glove box. We have been extremely careful after that stupid mistake.
   Best..there were so many but I want to highlight the generosity of the butcher in Paris who gave our family two whole grilled chicken for free, 'cos he saw us giving something to an old lady to eat. I told my wife that he should give it to the old lady, but i guess he must have done that before.

   My husband and I traveled from Tucson AZ to Mazatlan, Mexico by car in 2002. Traveling through the Sonora desert wasn't much fun, but then we were used to the Arizona desert and also the Nevada and California deserts so that wasn't the worst part of the trip. The worst came when we decided to spend the night at the Days Inn motel (it was a 14 hour trip) just before entering the Sinaloa region. From the outside it looked charming: white washed walls with red tile roof, clean, attractive. We got a room which was your basic motel room: Twin beds, a TV, window air conditioner, restroom. So far so good. On closer inspection, there were ants on the carpet, the window ac unit was noisy and there were flies in the room. We turned on the cable TV. It was June and very hot outside so at least we were in a cool shelter in the shade. The sun was going down quickly and we were tired. I brushed the covers off my bed and immediately saw a black beetle on my white bed sheets. I was absolutely horrified. Then the power inexplicably went off and we plunged into darkness, lost the TV and the air conditioner stopped working. It was getting hot in the room and the power wasn't coming back, so we called the front desk to complain and they assured us that they were working on it. I was afraid to step on the carpet to go anywhere because of the bugs, the flies kept flying around me and I feared there might be more beetles in my bed, so I developed one of my formidable migraines that lasted all night and all day the following day. When we finally made it to our Mazatlan hotel I still was suffering from the migraine and my husband went to have his shrimp supper by himself while I agonized in bed. All our other travel experiences were fantastic compared to this one.

   I got abducted by a Eunuch in Nepal. I was put in this dingy room for 3 hours before I was released.
   
   Well, partly true.
   
   I was drunk and I volunteered to help this poor Eunuch ( what an A** I am). It was 1.30 AM in the morning. I sit in this small room and the eunuch walks out saying "something came up". I walk out ( forgetting that my stuff is still inside the room), the eunuch locks the door, and vanishes leaving me in the dark ( literally). I can't get out to the street because my stuff is still inside, it's pitch dark, and It's a maze to navigate ( which is impossible).
   
   I wait for 3 hours until our "manwoman" comes back and opens the door. I grab my stuff and I force him/her to lead me out of the maze, to the streets, and to the taxi.
   
   Damn it. Never do this, ever.

   I still laugh when I think of the time the train driver in Paris got off the train making his passengers wait while he gave us directions to Eifle Tower !
   
   The worst - It was all good so maybe putting up our tent in the rain in France & Germany while our 3 girls waited in the car !!

   The best would be the fun and extra ordinary experience I have when I took my intern. The place is also amazing, by the way I was in China when I traveled abroad.
