   Pour jam over cream cheese and serve it with crackers for a quick impromptu appetizer. It is really delicious. I like to use jam or jelly that is made with peppers like jalapeno or red pepper to give the dish extra zest but any kind will do.

   When my children were small, I would stir a spoonful or two of jam or fruit preserves into a small cup of plain yogurt for them--much healthier than the sugar-laden processed yogurts marketed to children.  Jam or preserves are also delicious served warm over ice cream for a delicious dessert.

   You can use it for cookies, or as a filler between cake layers.  If you add it to some milk and confectioners sugar, you can make a sauce for desserts or ice cream. You can use it to make different fruit flavors of home made ice cream.
   
   Or you can just have a food fight with it.

   When I was younger my favourite use for jam was to stir it into semolina or rice pudding.  I also love popping a croissant in the toaster and dipping it in jam.  So lovely...

   I often use it to prepare my own sauces and also when I bake chicken or ribs for example...my kids love my chicken with soy sauce and apricot jam!!!

    I sometimes use it to sweeten my oatmeal. Also, when I get a craving for something sweet I will take a spoonful or two. It does the trick!

    I have added a tsp of jam to meatloaf or meatballs.  I know it sounds weird but the sweetness balances the saltyness.  I've also drizzled honey in dishes like chili and have been begged to reveal my secret.

    There are lots of ways to use jam in desserts! You can make thumbprint jam cookies or use it as a cake filling. You can also warm it up and use a pastry brush to apply it on the top of a fruit tart or pie, adding a nice sheen and a little extra sweetness.
    
    Similarly, you can use it as a glaze for meat, to bring some sweet fruitiness to a savory dish. It can be really nice with spicy food and a little bit of acid to cut the sugar.
