I would resign and wonder how I got into office without running. Might be funny, but I'm totally honest. Being the President is incredibly hard...either you are herding cats; or everyone hates you (no matter what party you are from).
The very first thing I would do is pull our troops out of the Middle East. Then, I would tell the world that if you so much as touch a hair on the head of an American or an American interest we will bomb your country without mercy. Women, children, kids, cats and dogs. I would tell Puttin to kiss my A** if he did not like it and I would tell China the same. None of these countries would move a muscle. The Muslims would of course try us out but after we smoked them mercilessly they would shut the hell up.
Next, I would cut corporate taxes to 0% and make America the best place in the world to do business. Then, I would put forth an initiative to pass the Fair Tax. Finally, I would send the state militias to arrest every flea bitten, pot smoking, left wing lunatic at every occupy camp in America. Wow--I feel better all ready.
BTW- to the left wig drones who will no doubt go postal when they read this--frankly I could care less what you think. I am politically incorrect and I say what most Americans think bu won`t say. Ok, I` done. LMAO
I agree with MPChris. My first act would be to mourn the state of our nation's voters, that their judgment would be so poor as to elect a fool like me to President. I would insist on a quick fly-around on Air-Force One before resigning though - I mean, come on! It's Air Force ONE!
In all seriousness, though, The job of President is such a maelstrom of complexity and cross-purposed decisions, I continuously wonder at the fact that we con anybody into running for office in the first place. Especially when you realize that, at one point or another, you will make a decision - or even a suggestion - that will tick off one half of the nation or another.
The old saw that no one who wants to be president should be allowed anywhere near the white house applies here. The good people either stay out of politics or are personally destroyed before they become a threat to the status quo. Therefore, should one of us be president, he would by definition be a bad man, and the first things he would do are to set out to entrench himself in power, line his own pocket, and pay off his supporters. So it goes. Look at the record objectively, stripping it of the illusion and hype in which a politician successful enough to become president is expert, and that's what you'll see.

I have been hearing people say recently that because Obama has done such a poor job, and he is the first black president; it will be harder for another black person to become president. It made me think, so I am wanting to put this one out there and read your thoughts on this issue. I believe that...
