Do you vote based on things like race, sex, looks, religion...
instead of about the issues? Do you think race, sex, or religion actually have anything to do with how well someone will perform as president or any other elected seat?
race, sex, looks, religion...have no part in guiding how anyone should vote, they are inconsequential mainly because anybody seeking election will have assumes a position designed to attract the most votes.
In other words, with power folk, what you see is NOT what you get, so basing your decision on what someone looked like, or told you they believed would be a foolish and unreliable way to elect anybody.
Race and sex are also false positives, any power person will play the race or sex card to suit themselves, so the feminist may not be what she seems and the macho man may just as easily be homosexual and inadequate.
Electing someone because they were of a certain race, or rejecting someone for the same reason is also foolish.
People who stand for election are liars, the honest ones are knocked out early on by the professional liars, and if any honest politician does start attracting voters, the professionals will see that the media report some scandal, real or contrived, to stop the people voting for them.
People vote for the illusion that this person will change things into how they would like them to be.
It's a lie, all politicians are controlled by their backers, the 1% bankers, so you get whatever they want you to have, no matter what the politico promises.
I actually would have voted for Hillary over McCain and I'm as Conservative as anyone on the planet. Obviously looks and race have nothing to do with how someone governs. However, one's religious beliefs have an impact. I mean, would a Muslim govern the US differently from a Christian? Obviously yes.
But are these things predictive. To a degree they are predictive. Obama is an anti-colonialist, anti-white and anti-American communist. So obviously he will govern from the perspectives that America is evil. Ask yourself, or do the research to see if there is a white president that has ever inserted themselves into an issue where a black kid shot a white kid and the president claims that the white kid would have looked like his son?
The question really is not whether it is race, sex or religion that determines performance, but rather one's political ideology.
absolutely it makes a difference. for me, religion is the big one. if you're really religious i would never vote for you because in the end i honestly believe that you aren't stable enough or realistic enough to run anything that matters.
These are all irrelevant to me. I prefer to vote on the issues and don't believe these things affect a person's job as president. The person's work speaks for itself.
It should be the issues, but all those other things come into play.
Stay Well
I vote based on character and views. I don't look at race or anything else but that. Religion needs to be separate from everything. There is a separation from church and state for a reason, but people use their religious views to influence political things. If one religion thinks it is alright to murder, no one is going to elect a person who believes in that.
I will say this. I would vote for a female, but the thing is. What would other countries think. Do you think other countries who think women should be covered at all times and stay 3 steps behind their man would respect a woman in political office? I would vote for Hilary Clinton, or any other female if I believe in what they stand for. I would not vote for Palin though. She is not all there in my eyes.
We as a country are trying to take away basic things we have had, contraception, and tampons are a hot issue. Is that we have come to with the government to worry about that and not the people or the trillions in debt. We need to reassess what our government does. What they can nit pick at. They do not need to touch things we can buy at a super market. Unless it is unlawful.
I look at what a president wants to do with the issues with the country. Santorum wants to get rid of all porn, and Gingrich wants to build a space station on the moon and make it a state. The porn industry is huge in California, that is taking away jobs. While the making a station on the moon would create jobs, it would hurt us financially. We can't afford either of those decisions. I analyze everything about a candidate's political views. I think we are personally screwed as a country right now.

98% of African Americans approve of Obama's job as president, is this a racial or racist component?

I am really curious about what other women think; because I've only recently started paying attention to politics since the media is ramping up Trump so much, lately. Before that, I'm sorry... I was not even SORT of paying attention to any other candidate from any party. Hillary is my girl, and she...

Would you vote for a Christian Latter-Day-Saint to be the President of the US? Why?I can't be sure, but it seems like the general populace would rather go with a Christian Pres. candidate who is willing to compromise Christian values for political status.

What part does racial identity play in your support of the presidential race?So many minorities I have encountered use race as a reason to support a candidate. Share your feelings about it and why.
