    If you could own a service dog what type would it be and why?

    Dogs are used today for everything from finding bombs and drugs, search and rescue, visiting and entertaining children and the elderly who are very ill, for those with seizures, blind, etc.  If you could own a service dog what type would it be and why?

    These service dogs are incredible and I am lucky enough not to have to need one. Although to answer your question, my choice would be a service dog that would help me and be there as company for me when I get old and if I am of ill health.

    If I owned a service dog it would certainly be a German Shepard

    There are so many types I like but I'd probably go with a friendly Lab or Golden Retriever.

    I have seen so many different types of services dogs lately. So, I'm not sure what type of dog really does do the best service.  I am partial to german shepherds as I grew up with these in our home.

    i have always wanted a dog trained as a search and rescue dog.
