Someone used one of my images without consent or attribution on a Hub. What can I do about it?

I did a few image searches for the pictures I use for my nail art blog, and I ended up finding one of them being used on Hubpages without the watermark (which I always insert before sharing on flickr) and without a link back to my blog.  I don't mind my images being used, as long as I receive some kind of attribution. I took the time to do those designs and take the pictures after all.  How should I handle this? I've already flagged the hub and typed out the reason for it. Is there another, better, way to go about it?

First of all I would contact the person directly. Give them the benefit of the doubt. Tell them you were drawn to the image and then realised it is yours. Maybe give them a link to your blog to prove it. Ask them where they got it and again be polite as they may not know anythig about taking an image and using it.
If you are comfortable with them using the image I would give them the choice to add a link or credit your blog as a reference or ask them to kindly remove it.
If they do not reply I would send one stronger email and if no reply or no willingness to cooperate I would report the hub to hubpages directly. Hope this helps.

Thank you WorkAtHomeMums. That's really good advice and probably what I should have done in the first place.  I'll leave it a while to see what's done from Hubpages' side and then take it from there.  I've voted up this answer. Thanks for helping! :-)

There is a website called tineye      www.tineye.com  it is a reverse image search ; you can try to see if someone is using your images,  it is free

How to stop them from using your images?
I do not know about contacting them first, they did not contact you first before using your image.
Just my opinion,  I have not come across that so I do not know how I would react.
