    Which makes the best tasting coffee – modern coffeemakers or old-fashioned percolators?

    For me, it's a matter of coffee.  If I'm using folgers coffee, I prefer a percolator. 

    I don't use that stuff anymore though.  I buy whole bean coffee and grind it myself to get that nice rich freshly ground flavor.  To avoid the pain of grinding to a specific coarseness though, I use a drip pot with a filter in it...or an espresso machine.

    I love my percolator.  I love the taste of the coffee and the smell as it percolate.  I use one of the one cup machines for the convenience and because I, so often, will be the only one drinking.  But when I have a relaxing morning I pull out the percolator and when I have family visiting it gives me the perfect excuse.

    I will say that for me its all about the coffee, I don't have a favorite brand but I enjoy my Hazelnut and French Vanilla coffee flavors.
