   Do you ever get writer's block?
   
   Finding ways to ease the mind when you have writer's block. What helps you think better so you can write?

   oh yes! I step away from the project. Take a walk or read a book. Anything to step back and not think about writing for a few minutes. The upside of writers block is that inspiration can come back full force and you won't be able stop! Good luck on future works!

   I agree with youngmom - stepping away from a project definitely helps. I also learned a trick in my creative writing seminars at school that seems to work well for me - if you're really stuck, sit down and just write 500 words without thinking about grammar, flow, how it sounds, etc. It can be 500 really crappy words. But it usually gets me thinking in a new way about the project or reveals something about a character that suddenly makes me want to write again.

   I get writers block when I am tired and stressed. As soon as I am rested I am fine again.

   I don't get writer's block so much as writer's exhaustion where I look at the project and it just seems overwhelming. I am editing and reworking an long abandoned manuscript of mine. It is a good story but I look at the work involved and I just feel overwhelmed.

      I too get overwhelmed sometimes when dealing with projects. to ease my thoughts, i always carry a note pad and pen to write the first thing that comes to my head!

   Writing is for me just a hobby, so I don't think consciously about writing, the inspiration usually comes to me in the middle of the night or on my regular walks in bush or next to ocean, if I don't write it down soon enough it is all gone...some ideas I manage to scribble down and some not...

      I have been know to jump up from bed at 2AM and grab a notebook. When the writing bug bites you just have to go with it!

   I'd answer this question, but I just can't seem to get my thoughts together enough to compose a cogent answer!

   I JUST a few moments ago described that my clarity and "idea generator" seems to function best AWAY from the page/screen!  That's just unfair and NOT funny, raght thay'er, folks!  Maybe if I actually started USING/carrying my voice-activated recorder, I could,  well, *record* my ideas as they come without anxiety and boredom getting in the way!
