Have you got a successful natural remedy for eczema in the ear (adult)?
I have an itchy ear, sometimes "weepy", and with flaky skin. It was originally diagnosed as "swimmer's ear" by a GP but none of the pharmaceuticals prescribed have done anything more than create even worse itching. I'm open to trying anything (well, nothing truly disgusting) you have come across that works well for eczema in the ear, natural products most acceptable. Thank you.
Put a few drops of Virgin Coconut oil in your ear daily. Your problems should be gone within a couple of weeks if not sooner. Make sure it coats all the skin that normaly flakes. It provides a great amount of moisture to the skin and that should rid any itching or flaking. My 6 year old had horrible eczema on half his body. He now rubs this oil all over him after his bath and has no more issues. He said it stopped itching on day 2 and hasn't been flaky in months! Not sure about the ear but I know it is safe to use in the ear because that's what we use for ear infections at my house. Good Luck!
My oldest son was plaqued with Cradle Cap, well into his teen years. It was so bad, that his hair was falling out. Biotin deficiency was one of the many problems that was the root cause. Suggested Adult dosage is 300mg daily. Also changing his shampoo helped. The weeping suggests an infection of some sort, Olive Leaf extract is very gentle, swab on the affected area 2-3 times a day. Purchase a reputable brand, put a couple of drops on a cotton swab, and apply. The itching can imply a fungal infection. Can also be the dryness, apply coconut oil, very effective for dry skin. Another effective healing agent is vitamin E. Purchase a reputable brand, in capsule form, puncture the capsule with a straight pin, and apply the liquid directly on the ear, donot put into ear canal. Vitamin E will speed healing and treat the cause. You may take vitamin E orally, but donot exceed 400IU daily. It is a blood thinner, and may be a problem above that dosage amount. Never take vitamin E with warfarin, coumadin or any other prescription blood thinner. I hope this helps.
artist101, thank you for your comprehensive answer to my question about ear eczema... I think you are right about the fungus part and I don't seem to be able to get relief no matter what I try. I will give your whole regimen a go!
