Is it considered a plagiarism to make a craft with the same  idea but using different materials ?

No according to me it's not. There's 7 million people on the world and ideas would match frequently. A paper bag is a paper bag. There might be 10 different variations of it, but when a thousand people works one the same project, things can be similar!

absolutely, is a big big no actually, cuz though you have the same idea, but still your own unique materials.

I agree with the others, agusfanani.. it may be the same type of craft project of another but it's your creation-- and it's your version of how you created that creation.   When I make craft from a tutorial I've seen on the internet, I try to post back to where I found the original idea and they are always happy to see my version. I've never found anyone to be offended smile

Yes as a metal artist I must consider this often.  Many times, I will be out and about, and an ornate building will intrigue me,  I will take a couple of architectural design elements and develop my own composition based on the theme.  When it is all said and done,  I have made a truly unique sculpture.

For me, NO! Using the different materials makes all the difference. It is ok to copy the same idea but do not copy everything or every details of it.

It would be plagiarism if you used the original person's instructions verbatim, even if you're using other materials. If the finished product is a replica of the original, it's nice to give credit where credit is due.

Of course not. It is called creativity. I often do the same and go to http://corkboardsheets.com for supplies but I never think using magnetic white boards instead of the original is plagiarism.

There are no original ideas as far as the actual project but the content is always original I think because no two people see it the same way. I love to paint and sculpt but my creations are not like other people because my skills and ideas are not the same. Projects such as crochet, knitting, painting, sculpting, drawing, etc are not an original idea but what you do with that idea is.
