Here is the link to a Pomapoo AKC registered dog breeder: http://jerriespetplace.com/

Jerrie's Pet Place can be very helpful in finding your perfect Pomapoo companion. They might even know of some AKC registered dog breeders in your area.

All the very best to you and your adorable soon to have Pomapoo! big_smile

A Pomapoo is a mutt, not a registered breed! A breeder may be an AKC registered breeder - which doesn't take much - but Pomapoos are not a registered "breed!"

Jerrie's Pet Place had Pomapoo listed as one of the breeds they sell.

They can call it what they like - it is not a breed - it is a "designer" dog - a mutt.

So if I breed to random dogs and end up with a new breed the dog is a mutt? Im just trying to understand what makes a dog a breed and what makes it a mutt?

A mutt is a mongrel = An animal resulting from various interbreedings, especially a dog of mixed or undetermined breed. A pedigree (usually registered) is a dog of 1 breed. (per Webster's Dictionary)

Breeds are determined by the kennel clubs, such as the American Kennel Club (AKC), United Kennel Club (UKC) and others. The breed groups include hunting, sporting, etc. Breed groups distinguish dogs bred for different purposes.

If you're asking about a mixture of a Pomeranian and a Poodle, don't! Do not purchase a designer dog! Designer dogs are mutts - instead go to your local humane society or rescue to find a mutt instead! If you prefer a purebred, do your homework and then find a reputable breeder or go to your local humane society where purebreds are also surrendered.

Do you realize that by purchasing a designer dog you are supporting the puppy mill business? Please don't! Please do your research on puppy mills! Puppy mills are large breeding operations - or "backyard breeders" who look at dogs as cash crops and breed excessively and repeatedly without regard to breed standard (and Pomapoos are NOT a breed) and animal health, crossing anything and everything, selling inferior animals at exhorbitant prices. These animals live in filthy, dark, crowded cages without human interaction and many without ever feeling the ground under their feet!

Please learn more about designer dogs and puppy mills - and go to your local humane society to find a Pomapoo or other mixed breed dog!
