Can god make a weight he himself cannot lift?
So, can God make a weight he can't lift. If he can than he cannot do something meaning he isn't omnipotent (able do anything). If he can't, then he can not do something again. What do you reckon? Sorry if you think it's a stupid question.
If we suspend disbelief and accept the existence of God, He would no longer be omnipotent if he could. By not being able to create that weight, also is a proof of limitation.
Omnipotent doesn't mean that God can do anything. It means that he can do anything that is logically possible. God can't lie, sin or make a square circle. This question distorts the definition of omnipotence and is therefore guilty of the straw man fallacy.
Thanks, you learn something new every dary :-)

If there was an omnipotent God, would he be able to create a stone he couldn't lift?

I typically prefer to deal in quantifiable subjects, but this is a thought that resurfaced in my mind recently and was one of the first thoughts that led to my de-conversion from Christianity some years ago.So, how does the idea of hell fit into the supposition that God is, by definition (since God...

After all the claims made by biblical religionists that the biblical god is all of the above, none of this god's actions seems to fit these lofty roles. For example, the biblical god has to be worshiped, which hardly seems to be an omni-anything trait and not worthy of any leader of men. I decided...

Are there self imposed limits to what God will and will not do?Are there limits that God has placed on Himself? And if so, does it or can it directly effect mankind? For example, does mans free will limit what God can and can not do, with God knowing He gave man free choice? Does this limit God?...

Are we, as the human race, giving God more than he can handle? With all the violence, wars, moral declines and constant breaking of the commandments, when will he say, "That's it! Lights out!" Are we pushing the envelope? I'm sure he has his limits. It's scary when you think about it.
