      You are going on a week-long nature research project in the wilderness. You are going to camp the entire week. What Five Foods do YOU carry. Be careful. Some foods do not give you what your body needs.

   I believe that it is possible. Sometimes, the most lengthy ones are not always the best ones. As they say, "It is the quality and not quantity that counts"-I tend to agree with this quote:-).

   Unless you write something of quality, there is little point in writing, regardless of the wordcount. Unless you have the time to put forth a sincere effort in any task, the time spent is usually a waste.  Quality always demands time and quantity rarely equates to the quality of any endeavor.

    I think if the information is good quality than it doesn't matter how long it is. I actually prefer shorter hubs because that way I have time to read more of them. Except for some topics, it doesn't take hundreds of words to explain what it is you're trying to say. I think we all maybe try to "stretch" out our hubs because we are told "content is king". I've read many shorter hubs on here that were excellent!

       I see what you are saying, catgypsy. I may try myself, in the near future, to challenge myself into writing JUST 300-word hubs. But I have to overcome that habit of when I do get a good thought linkage, the temptation of adding and adding more links.

    I believe it is absolutely possible to write a quality hub limiting yourself to 300 words. We tend to focus a bit too much on word count and the balance of our hub layout. If the focus is on the quality of your article, and less on the technical details, you'll succeed.

       I agree with you, Jeff. Me? I am too design-minded--I look for ways to catch attention with bold and light face types, artwork and such. Maybe I need to do as you suggest and let my words do the talking. Poor pun. Sorry.
