Why is it that believers in god/gods are worried by non-believers?
It would seem like, if their god/gods are indeed for real, the order of the Universe won't be affected by the disbelief of some individual/s, and the believers wouldn't need to feel pressured to engage in discussions about their beliefs or the others lack of belief.
If there is no problem, why to worry? and if there is a problem, why to worry? their god/gods will take care of it.
Actually, I believe that is really a two way street. One is always worried about the other!
Perhaps, but one would strongly suspect that the reasons (the why?) would be very different for each side. What you think the believers reasons for worrying are? Then we might address the non-believers' reasons in another question.
Often I think all sides have this illusion that "they" are the only saving way. That in itself is an instant conflict and raises the desire to convience the other to change ways. It is usually the unknown we fear, like why do "they" do that?
At last notice, non-believers don't believe in salvation, so for them the "saving way" doesn't ring a bell. Are you telling that "salvation" is cause for the believer to worry about non-believers? That's a good point to ponder 'bout, do tell more...
I think there are two different kinds of people who engage the other side. One is trying to spread awareness. Many people take pride in their religion, but are understanding that their viewpoint isn't the only one out there. So, they come to various forums to answer questions about themselves and learn about others. The other kind of people see the other side as a threat and/or an insult. It's easy for a theist to look at an atheist and immediately think the atheist is judging them, if for no other reason than their beliefs suggest your beliefs are a complete lie. So, in order to justify ones own beliefs, they go on the offensive first, and never turn it off. But hostility comes from the person, not the religion. There are attackers on every side, and the strength we must all learn is to ignore them and focus instead on the constructive conversations that spread awareness and tolerance.
I think that most believers want to help the other person by sharing their faith with them, because their faith has help to improve their life, and they want to help improve the life of the other person. I do not think that the issue should be pressed or cause conflict with others. People have the right to believe or not, I just wish them the best either way. I believe that God and Goddess will take care of all major issues. Hopefully me going back to the spiritual world is on their list.
Hare Krishna,
Best wishes

Can Christians be what other would consider "sensitive" to the spiritual world?I have met many Christians that say they can see things that others don't! Many of them don't know what to call but being sensitive. I personally don't believe in physics, and medium, and these Christians have...

Why do believers of God like to criticise the non-believers?

Most conservative Christians will tell you that there can be no sin in heaven. Jesus died for our sins, and the only way those sins can be forgiven is if we accept this "free gift" offered. Otherwise, we burn in hell. However, there are two problems with this view. ...

Why do Christians feel the need to tell us about their religious beliefs?I don't have a problem with Christianity or any religion for that matter, but I view religion/spirituality as a personal and privvate matter and feel that it's best kept that way unless one is specifically asked to expand on...

When I was a child I often wondered where the sun and moon went and why the birds could fly and I couldn't. As an adult I often wonder where the dead go when they (that which is beyond the heavens) die and why do they have to die? Is there something more to the Bible than the words that...

I have been told that my belief in the Bible and God is a threat to non believers. My question is, How is something you don't believe in a threat to you? If I don't believe in something I don't feel threatened by it.
