How much does it cost to paint a car?
I've bought a second hand car this weekend and thought the paintwork would be easily restored with some T-cut but this is not the case. does anyone know how much it would cost to paint a Peugeot 205 GTI?
Hi Executive,
how could I not answer this Q when you picked the best, the most legal fun you can have, hot hatch of the century, my personal favourite and one I put through several hedges on rallies but always managed to find the exit gate.
I can't tell from pic but I think those are original 1.6 rims and in black the only other colour I'd have other than white. I don't normally go for white but in some it just suits the best and I had 1.6 & 1.9 in white but the black arches and rubbing strips and quarter trims made it stand out.
OK, enough, I think you get that I'm more than passionate about the 1/6 & 1/9 ti as they need no other intro and if you don't recognise the name go buy a Metro.
This is the ultimate machine, streaks ahead and better than any Golf. There that'll get the V-Dubbers ranting. I was never a Golf fan simply because it never gave what this machine gave, feedback, feedback and more feedback. You know when you are driving this car and it likes it.
You have one of the most desirable machines on 4 wheels and excellent examples are and will continue to fetch very big money. As with all classic cars your 2 main enemies are condition and budget.
I'll put it simply, that this car is worthy of being mint, inside, outside and underneath. If a respray is the only concern then yes it is very worth doing. If it needs other work, then think twice and then a little more.
You could get a respray for 1000 pounds, you wouldn't want it and it would ultimately ruin this beautiful machine.
Expect to pay from 4000 to 8000. I know, ouch, flaming Nora, you gotta be joking, I'm not.
Best way forward, join the Peugeot Owners Club. I don't like links so Google "Club Peugeot UK".
These nice, mad, inthusiastic people will tell you everything you will ever want to know about the Peugeot 205 GTi,
MJ.
Hey MJ
Thanks for the information £4000 to £8000 is way more than I expected however I think it will be worth doing, I used to own a 1.6 GTI in the 90's when I was a kid it was a wonderful car so yesterday when my dads friend said she had one and needed to get rid of it our of her garage I thought I'll take a look, I wasn't expecting to find what I did you won't believe this but the car is pretty much brand new it only has 12,000 miles on the clock and has been in her garage for years.
Her husband bought the car for their daughter but she only used it for a two years if that before she moved down south, then her husband past way shortly after and it's just been in there ever since.
When I first looked at it I thought this makes no sense, it has no scratches, the tires still have full tread, the interior is immaculate but the paint work is totally faded, this is when I thought the T-cut would bring it up to new but I've tried that and it's having no effect, I'm going to take it to a garage on Tuesday to see how much it will be to do a full respray and also for them to check it out but I can't see any other issues with it apart from the pain work.
It's goes fast as hell though :-)
We checked on it for an old Ramcharger we have. Great car, bad paint. Quality paint job started at $3000. So it will remain with bad paint.
I can understand that, if you don't have the money your hands are tied.
Contact Car Spray Paints for the knowing the cost of car paint.
Thanks for your comment, I've spoken to quite a few people regarding the car and I am making progress the car should be ready in the next two weeks can't wait.
