NO. I honestly believe that Joe Pa really wasn't aware of the extent of what was going on. That's why you have Administration and so many other people who dropped the ball on this one. Joe Pa was the Head Coach. What he did for that University has no bearing on what VERY LITTLE, If anything he knew about that SCUMBAG. Joe Pa died of a broken heart over this. He was too good of a Man to jeopardize his LEGACY for this SCUMBAG. God forgive me, May he rot in prison. They need to put him in population in prison, Then "JUSTICE" will be done.

I completly disagree with the first half of this answer but I am voting up. Mostly because I don't see how 4 people thought it didn't add to the conversation.

Are you are Prison Guard? or an Ex-Con, or someone who hears about Prison then speaks because he knows what he's talking about?

JThomp42 I do believe that he knew. Louis Freih's report that came out on Thursday concluded he was just as culpable as the other 3. When they were considering reporting THE SCUMBAG, Paterno said no. THE SCUMBAG still had access to the school, the football team and young boys. How many young boys were molested by THE SCUMBAG after 2001, when they wanted to report him? You can 't blame Paterno for what happened before they knew.

Paterno put Penn State on the map. It's a shame that his legacy is tarnished by the mistake in judgement he made.

I think the statue should be taken down because it's likely that many passers-by will recall the scandal and be prompted to have negative thoughts about the statue, university, and staff. No matter what accomplishments one has made in sport or how much money they've made for a team, brand, or themselves, their true character shows when the tough (life) calls must be made. Let the trolling and voting down of my answer begin...

It says little for us that we only remember the negative and controversial aspects of a person's life. We are like ravens ready to pick apart road-kill that is not yet cold.

The fact of the matter is that child molestation and other forms of abuse most often last a lifetime. In this case Paterno AND other grown men should have stepped up and been men. I repeat, let the trolling & voting down of a realistic answer beg

If everything that FBI guy said is true then yep.  They should demolish that building too and make a new football office building somewhere else.  I know I wouldn't want to walk through it.  It's just creepy as h**l.

Don't worry about the expense either, it will just get derived from the hands of the working man. Great idea!!!

As opposed to the 6.5 million they spent on the report? Or the money they spent hiding this over the last 14 years? Or the payout they gave sandusky in 1998?  Or the money they're spending now to renovate the building?

The costs would not be passed onto "the working man."

Penn State and college football in general will feel the repercussions for years! After all the lawsuits and a ruined football program, they won;t have funds or the need for new facilities.

If the NCAA is smart they'll give the football program the death penalty.  If SMU got it for what they did in the 1980's, then anything NCAA does afterward if they don't hand it down would be a joke.

That would be a good idea, but the death penalty will affect a lot of innocent people, from the players, to the people who have businesses in the area of the stadium

I think he should be allowed to choose the way he dies....along with Sandusky.
