   I would be a Praying Mantis. Why? Because I had one land on my windshield once while leaving a park after mountain biking. It stared at me through the glass and it was one of the most memorable moments of my life. I pulled over, scooped him\her up and set it free, but I'll never forget the experience. I had never seen one before that, haven't seen one since.

   Spiders are not technically insects, but of all the arthropods in the world I would be happiest being a spider I think. As far as little things go, they are a fairly dominant predator, enjoy their solitude, and come in a variety of different colors and patterns that I find very attractive! Might as well look like a rock star while I'm killin' my dinner

      Some of those "Banana" spiders I've seen hanging over the creeks down in FL. look like friggin rock stars for sure, bright red and yellow, ginormous legs. Now for my next question, "Which Rock stars resemble spiders"

   I would probably be a ladybird, because I'd be one of the few insects that humans actually welcome into the garden. Yep, if I was a ladybird, then I probably wouldn't get sprayed with insecticide. But then again you never know. Some people target any creepy crawlies.

      Sad but true. Man, ever since I visited the "Tree of Life" down in Orlando, I think it's universal studios? You basically watch a movie where the insects beg you not to spray them..... Havent sprayed anything since hahaha.

   Without doubt I'd be a hoverfly for roughly 48 minutes. In that time I'd emerge on a warm sunny day and in a series of high velocity sprints make my way to the nearest clump of neighbourhood flowers. These sprints would be too much for the human eye to take in - they would see only a blur of a transparent feathery thing.
   Then I'd stop in an instant  to hover above a dandelion flower, wings working like crazy with my body absolutely still, fixed motion.
   I'd land with a delicate six foot landing so soft and perfect I'd not know if I'd landed or not but I must have because I'm sipping the nectar, fuel for my lift off.
   
   Up I go in a silent silky fashion, turning in a fraction to zip off at warp factor 7 to the next sweet smelling flowerhead, zig zagging past bees and wasps, like slow flying hippos compared to me...I am the zen master of aerobatics.....nothing can catch me, not even time itself.....oooops stop! Without thinking. 48 minutes are up. I'm turning back into a human....oh no. How boring.

   I would be a butterfly.  Why?  I like them.  They are usually brightly clothed in colors and patterns, and what girl doesn't like fashion? They symbolize transformation, especially on the spiritual level, which we are all engaged in regardless if we pay attention to that or not.  They have wings and can fly, so they also symbolize 'freedom' to me.  They have a rich symbolic history with other cultures, such as the First Nations people.  In fact, the Shawl Dance, in their culture, represents the use of colorful shawls as butterfly wings.  Plus, they have an esoteric  quality to them and that brings in an element of magic and mystery.

   I believe I'd be a honeybee. I love flowers and herbs, and so do the honeybees. I would enjoy knowing my labor would make others happy. I would be producing both honey and pollen -- both useful for sustaining humans and other animals (such as bears. ) I probably wouldn't be thrilled to have my honey stolen, but there's always enough to share.
   
   Besides that, I'd be helping to produce food for other creatures by pollinating flowers so they could turn into apricots, peaches, apples, grapes, elderberries, herbs, and vegetables. I would love being a part the life cycles of all plants I visit, helping them to reproduce and bring joy to all creatures who depend upon them for life.
