How does Hubpages choose which members get accepted into the apprenticeship program?
The Learning Center lists their guidelines:
"To apply for the HubPages Apprenticeship Program, you must have a HubPages account and at least one published Hub. You must also have an approved Google AdSense account and be enrolled in the HubPages Earnings Program."
and
"we will be looking for a consistent stream of newly-published Hubs and/or an already existing blog, website, or collection of published online work. We will be reviewing this work for proper grammar and punctuation, as strong writing skills are essential for success, and the Apprenticeship Program does not cover basic writing skills."
and
"Finally, we are looking for applicants who are motivated to improve their online writing skills and build their online brand, and are also willing to learn and provide support and feedback to fellow Apprentices... we only want to accept applicants who are willing to invest a significant amount of time and focus."
I have read elsewhere that while you are waiting to be accepted into the program, you should write at least 5 hubs a month to show that you are capable of the type of volume the program requires. All of your hubs (or other online writing) must show that you are capable of writing quality content.
In addition, if I were choosing, I would choose people who show themselves as good members of the community. I would think that if someone regularly talked down all of HubPages programs, or attacked other Hubbers, they would not be invited, since part of the program involves group feedback. This last paragraph is just my opinion - I don't know if that is actually the case.
I'm in the second group and we are required to publish 8 hubs a month. The first month the 8 titles were selected for us, based on our interests, but since then we are on our own to select the titles.
All of Millionaire Tips answers are correct, yet you can still be turned down if you meet all the criteria, there are so many applicants.
In addition to what MT said is that only 30 people are accepted each trip. You have to show that you are a good community person as well, like she said. You need to publish at least 2 hubs per week to show consistency and motivation because that's what the program is looking for.

Why wasn't I accepted into the Apprenticeship Program?I've noticed a lot of people talking about being accepted into the program and I'm just wondering why they passed me up? I have good quality hubs and I'm so eager to learn more. Tips, anyone? Has anyone else been rejected?

Did anybody hate the apprenticeship program? One third of the first class dropped out. I understand that it was mostly because of the rigors of the program and personal time constraints. However, I've seen nothing but praise so far. I'd like to hear from someone who didn't like the program. Maybe if...

Since I was turned down by HP regarding their apprenticeship program due to the fact that "you don't write well enough" (I so wish I didn't delete that email) yet I'm still allowed to write hubs which apparently are subpar then are they keeping me here so their pockets get fuller? ...
