   I am planning my funeral and have some ideas which I am not sure would work
   
   I would like my funeral to be different and definately more of a celebration party than anything else. As far as music is concerned, I am planning a mix of music I have enjoyed through my life, and that is more of a personal choice and maybe not for discussion, however, I am considering doing a video to be played and give me a final chance to say goodbye. Is this a good idea? a bad idea? in slightly bad taste or would people be so discomfitted, that it may be considered completely innappropriate?
   I would be grateful for any thoughts on this and your suggestions.

   I think it's a good idea. You will get to choose your final words to them. However, if things change with you, it might have to get updated every once in a while. How could that be viewed as innappropriate?

   It is very appropriate, I've left a list of things I want done at my funeral, my son calls them marching orders.  The video idea is not unheard of either, in one of the early "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episodes they showed just such a video of Tasha Yar.  As was mentioned elsewhere, if you make the video, update it regularly.
   
   If you leave the plans for your loved ones, that's one less thing they have to worry about or guess at when you're gone.

   It is cool to prepare your funeral and feel so fearless about  dead.I wonder how can you be so sure that everything that you plan are going to be made as you wish.
   Maybe your family would not follow your planning. Maybe they would want to be more traditional and crying instead of singing. I mean that maybe your family say ok that  they follow your wishes but when you will dead they would cry.
   There is a celebrity here in Greece who  already has made even his grave, He has put a statue of his and an inscription which say : i lived the way that i wanted.The grave is made and he visit it very often as i learn from the media. So i gave you an extra idea!!

      First of all, thank you so much for the comments. I have already started a little video diary so that it will hopefully give my son some comfort. Some of the 'episodes' are when I am being serious and giving advice for the future, some are very funny
