Which is your favorite social networking site?
face book ,twitter or......?
Twitter by far. It's still simple to use. Facebook keeps making changes and I've given up on keeping up with it. I only use Facebook for family now. I login to Twitter to chat or share links as I find them.
I actually prefer Google+ to either of them. I am making new connections there with whom I've actually been able to have interesting conversations. I hate to admit it, but this often doesn't happen on Facebook where my family and people I actually know hang out. Facebook seems more like an open house where people make small talk and share pictures. I have gotten to know a bit more about my brother through the kind of things he shares, but he isn't very talkative unless we speak in person or on the phone. My nephews hardly ever post anything, and I suspect neither checks in very often. I'm getting to know my cousin, whom I've never met in person, a bit through what he shares, but not as well as I'd like to. I do stay aware of the activities of friends who live far away or that I no longer bump into around town as I used to when we belonged to the same organizations. If I could get my friends to switch to Google +, I'd quit Facebook completely -- or at least stop posting.
I think Google+ makes it easier to meet new people and engage them in conversations. Their circles are easier to use, and people who don't know each other can follow each other without claiming to be "friends." The privacy controls are more intuitive and easier to implement than those on Facebook. The conversations are often more stimulating, and when you log in , you can immediately see notifications of what you might want to respond to in one easy interface, from which you can circle people who have circled you or answer posts you've responded to that got more responses or that mention you. You don't have to leave the page to do that.
Twitter has proven even less useful than Facebook in engaging people. It's more an information source. Although I've had a few conversations with people who Tweet, you can't go into any depth in140 characters.
I use Facebook, because it can be a great tool in animal rescue when you connect to the right people.
I definitely think facebook is the best, especially for businesses.
While it does keep making changes, it enables you to upload photos, videos etc. and you can actually keep up with your friends and family because your status update doesn't get lost in an abundance of others.
I find with twitter, tweets disappear within seconds as other ones are updated and I feel like I can never keep up to date!
I also like instagram as a way of sharing quick photos with family, friends and blog readers!
IN THE WORDS OF MY FOUR YEAR OLD, "SPACEBOOK" AKA FACEBOOK! DON'T REALLY GET TWITTER THAT MUCH, NOT OBSESSED WITH WHAT OTHERS OR STAR UP TO 24-7. FACEBOOK GIVES YOU MORE PRIVACY AND MORE ROOM TO BE AND DO AS YOU PLEASE.
I like Facebook, but I waste too much time on there looking at pictures and reading conversations that I don't really need to look at or read. Twitter soaks up a lot less of my time. So I guess - twitter.

Does social networking bring us closer together, or further apart? While sites like facebook and twitter enable us to share vast amounts of our lives with others in an instant, are our intereactions in fact becoming shallower?
