Do you own a Pit Bull?
We got our first Pit Bull named Chance three years ago. He is the most loving, loyal, precious dog you can ever imagine.
Not at the moment. But, I have owned several throughout the years. I have found they give back what they receive. If you give them love and stability they are the best dogs in the world. If you try to make them mean by different cruel things they do to them to make them mean, Then you create a monster. All of mine have been big babies who thought they were lap dogs.
I have two loving black labs. Although not all Pit Bulls are aggressive, I have seen too many that are which is why I will never have one. My dog and I were attacked by one of two Pit Bulls across the street. Two weeks later, the other Pit Bull attacked the other neighbor's littler dog. I see too much aggressive behavior in these dogs and read up on why it's so after my dog was attacked. I am a animal lover by nature but feel you have to be careful to not be naive when it comes to this breed.
I would have to wonder how these dogs were managed. It sound like they were roaming the neighborhood? Sounds like irresponsible owners.
Exactly right. They have a fence but the dogs were on a double leash and got away from my neighbor when she was getting them into her car. The second time she was on a walk with them on the double leash and the same thing happened. They are so strong
My old roommate had a Pit Bull. It would go to the bathroom at the back door once a week. Not the nice, clean bathroom break. Number 2 all over the floor, door, and cabinets. Then it brought a puppy from somewhere near the neighborhood and pulled it around like a rag doll. Little pup was left on the back patio under a chair with ants climbing all over it.
Oh, I'm sorry for that negative experience. I have a mixed mutt that uses the bathroom in the house too and outside. We cannot figure it out.
A negative experience can always be changed by positive ones. I'm glad your dog isn't like the one I met and I'm sure something will come to mind to fix his bathroom issue.
No, I don't own a Pit Bull. I know Pits Bulls are one of the most misunderstood dog breed that can make a loyal and wonderful pet. Most people think that pits are ferocious and cant make good pets.
I have a Boxer/Pit Bull mix at the moment, but I have had Pit Bulls in my bed. They are by far my favorite breed.
No I have an American Bulldog but my sister has a pitbull and he's a big ole baby.

Pit Bull Terriers as Pets - Yes or No - and most importantly - WHY, especially if you answered yes?I personally am against having Pit Bulls as pets (especially for a family with children) for the very simple reason of “instinctive trait”. Pit Bulls were selected and groomed to be fighting dogs...

Despite the fact that many people claim that pit-bulls are given a bad reputation and that they are in fact loving dogs, the fact remains that they were bred specifically as fighters and to be aggressive. Just as golden retrievers are genetically very calm dogs, pit-bulls are genetically violent...

Who's the problem? The pit bull or the owner?Should it be illegal to ban all fighting dogs? It's in they're instinct to ravage and Mail anything smaller than them especially if it darts past their line of vision! Would you rather see behavioural therapy? Or training classes more available for both...

I'm beginning my hubzone experience with a controversial topic, the American Pit Bull. I am the reluctant owner of this breed. I say reluctant, because as a child, I had a bad experience with a pit bull in our neighborhood. Dolly attacked my much loved border collie, Freckles, and...

7 year old Tanner Monk was killed by 2 pit bulls in Texas last week. Another sad tale in the long history of pit bulls. I just had to write a completely factual hub about pit bulls and their history. Tanners death is no joke, what is a joke is not having laws banning these menaces...
