   Why is Friends so good?
   
   Friends (Sitcom) is an unbeatable show, even with all the tv variety today, but why?

   Because a whole lot of work went into it.  As I understand it, it was performed live in rehearsal and criticised and adjusted several times before being recorded. 
   The artists were spectacularly good, brilliantly cast, and seemed to 'become' their characters - this effect remains today.  But mainly, It was 'clean '.  No swear words - even the word 'bitch' which occurred once, was cut after the first showing.  Any 'sex' angles were dealt with delicately and it was the dealing which was sensationally funny! 
   My favourite gag was when Joey went into hospital for a 'kidney stone'.  Ross went with him, and when Joey did not understand what a Doctor said, he asked Ross, and Ross whispered in his ear.      Joey was horrified, and said 'No way... tell them 'UP IS NOT AN OPTION!' 
   Sometimes the best humour is in what is NOT said!

   I have this theory that a quality show is not complete without its catchy beginning. You know that part of each episode where it shows the cast and plays the routine jingle? For example,
   
   1. Friends.
   2. X Files.
   3. That 70's Show.
   4. Breaking Bad.
   5. Walking Dead
   6. Etc...
   
   Okay so the beginning obviously doesn't make a show good. But isn't it neat how all good shows seem to share a catchy beginning? It seems curious!

   I think the writer's did a great job of creating unique characters, giving them certain characteristics.  They did a stellar job of staying true to those characteristics in their writing, making each person an individual we would relate to.
   
   Friends is on of my all time favorite shows and I love watching the DVDs.

   Friends is a classic TV Show that's been around for years! I think it is so successful because in the group of the friends there are so many different types of personalities, romances, humor and their is something that everyone can connect to in some aspect of the show! The writers also created very realistic characters that seem so real to us and we feel for the characters
