What's one of your all-time favorite television characters, and why?

From Vinnie Barbarino to Kramer on Seinfeld to Don Draper of Mad Men, what characters do you find genius and why do you like them so much?

Back in the 80s was a show called Perfect Strangers. Balky and Larry are cousins with very different attitude and upbringing.  the contrast between the two provides a hilarious backdrop for everyday life.

Oh yeah!!!  I remember that!  It was very funny.  I haven't thought of that in so long....  I love tv.  I love to get lost.  Thanks for posting!

Cliff Clavin on Cheers.  The butt of all the jokes but he didn't care, plus he still lived with his mom.

With all of the reality television shows that air, this question is kind of difficult to answer. I would have to say that my favorite television character is The Good Wife's Alicia Florrick, played by Julianna Margulies. She is intelligent, classy and sophisticated, strong, and beautiful.

I have been wanting to watch that show!  You are right - I keep saying how I am sick of reality shows and want a good script!  I guess I am just old school when it comes to tv!

What a tough question!  There are so many I love, but it has to be one of the characters from Friday Night Lights.  I loved Luke Cafferty (and now I may feel special fondness because that's my second son's name!).  I thought he was such a great character, and the type of guy you don't always see featured on a TV show because he wasn't flashy, but a hard worker, trying to do the right thing even in tough circumstances.

I loved that show.  I have to admit I loved Tim Riggins, though!

My all time favorite character was Catherine on "Beauty and the Beast" in the 1980s. I just loved that show, and I thought Catherine was a great hero -  plucky and courageous.

Also liked Jo on "Facts of Life."

...and I can't resist mentioning Snoopy on "Peanuts." Named my miniature French poodle after him. :0)

Awwww.  Love those!  I loved Jo, too.  And snoopy - one of my favorites as well!  Amazing how you can say so much without ever talking!

Very sweet.  I like those old cartoons, too.  I wish the world was like that again!
