How do HUB earnings work?
Both HUB ads and Google Ad Sense are active.
I have 37 hubs.
I'm following people and have people following me.
So far—one week—I've made 9 cents.
Is this what one can expect?
Have I done something wrong setting things up?
It takes time to grow a following and increase earnings. From what I have observed, it could take up to six months to earn enough for a payout. I have been here 3 months, and I have seen an increase in my earnings each month. I haven't hit the payout stage yet though. This is not a site where you will get rich quick, but it is a welcoming community of supportive writers. The other thing to consider is your hub topics. Some things will be more popular than others, and therefore, some hub articles will earn more.
Read and comment on hubs. It will get your name circulating out there, and more people will notice you and read your work.
One more thing... I have noticed that when I am not publishing for several days, my hubpages reads go down (logically), but my google hits keep rising. It takes time for your hubs to get noticed by the search engines. Again, be patient. It takes some time and energy to build your earnings. Good luck.
That's exactly what I needed to know. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer. I appreciate it.
You may find you make more cash by switching to Adsense only rather than hubpages ad program. You'll still need a few hundred views before seeing any action though.
To clarify, I meant at least a few hundred views a day to think about seeing any earnings. If you don't have that, then keep writing.
There is a 50 dollar threshold before you will get your first check. As soon as your Hubs start having "Traffic" (Reads) the more you will earn. You earn daily from your traffic to your Hubs.
Yes, that's what you can expect. You can expect to earn $2 to $5 per thousand views - so obviously, you need thousands of visitors in order to make any money. The HubPages community is small, so you won't start making money until you're attracting those visitors from outside the community - and that can take months.

I just wrote a hub on making money with HubPages but wanted to make sure it's ok before publishing. I know you are not supposed to mention what you are earning on HP, but is it ok to use titles like 'How To Earn $1000 per month on Hubpages', or 'How To Make $1 Million On Hubpages'? I don't...

I have heard the saying :Fake it till you make it; but today I read an interesting thread sparked by howtoguru. I have searched but can't seem to pick up a link to his hubs. let me backtrack.I read a hub with a poll; and unless it is ancient,66% of those who voted said that they earn $10 or less on...

How many hubs will it take to earn 50 dollars a month in hubpages earnings

I'm just curious to see what the average is for newcomers to earn in their first month. I know that the more hubs you have, the more impressions you'll have and potential clicks, but I'm really interested in hearing from some of the top earners, maybe to help inspire newcomers who aren't...
