Are the Fates punishing America for its sins with violence in the Arab world?

In the wake of mobs and death, yet another war looms, and war historically improves the reelection chances of the incumbent. It stretches credulity to believe it's all coincidental, but there are two possibilities: Obama's fanatical handlers have manufactured the conditions that permitted the chaos and plot an October Surprise so as not to let this crisis go to waste, or the Fates are angry with America and intend to punish it with another four years of this maladministration. Which is it?

I think fate is on the side of the US. So no to the idea of punishment - America is to good to be punished,  What crime has America committed for it to be punished.  It has helped liberate Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and now working damn hard to do the same for Syria.

I think its just coincidental, things like this happen all the time - as they say 'God bless America'

By nature I'm skeptical of coincidence. You could be right, but it's hard to believe this is occurring in a vacuum. Thanks for commenting, Zubair Ahmed.

I am not an expert in the politics of the Arab world, but it seems to me that tyrants like Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein are sometimes like the cork on a bottle of explosive gas.  You get rid of the cork and all hell breaks loose.  They kept their rivals down by employing draconian methods which the West would not find acceptable to use.  Now there's a free-for-all with various groups jockeying for power. The US helped the Libyans get rid of Gaddafi, but now the extremist groups see their chance. I doubt that it's some kind of conspiracy to get Obama re-elected as you suggest.

The US helped the Europeans get rid of Qhadafi (or how ever the &^%$ one should spell his name), who wanted to do it because he was cutting oil deals with the Chinese and cutting them out. Things aren't always as they appear on the surface. Thank

I don't know every factor, Attikos, but Qhadafi was definitely not Mr Nice Guy and there were quite a lot of Libyans who seemed happy to get rid of him.  The uprising had already started when he made his deal with China, surely?

I'm thinking Obama has let the Genie out of the bottle.

If we all remember correctly, Libya, Egypt, Tunisia and Syria were encouraged and manipulated through the Internet.  Facebook, Twitter and Google were used by the CIA to push these Countries towards uprising against the Dictators in power.  (Bush and others saw these dictators as necessary evils and supported them). Internet searches were manipulate my a special algorithm through Google that listed results leading to site options saying a popular uprising was taking place.  The people of these countries started following, went to the streets, etc.  The result is what we see now.

I believe extremists were put into a position to gain power.  This was an unintended consequence, but did open the door to them.  The Obama Administration and Leon Penetta should have looked at unintended consequences, but failed too.  I beleive the extremists whom want power in these countries are moving to excite the public and come to power.

It is very possible the Obama Team realizes the re-election value of war and conflict, as you point out.  While the writer producer of the movie supposedly is missing/hiding, your belief is possible. I would not count your opinion out. Seems real strange the producer of the movie being blamed cannot be found.

Thanks for your comment, larryprice5372. Mystery surrounds that movie. Even the existence of the movie is in doubt. There are too many oddities here for it all to be coincidental.

Since I don't know the mind of God, neither of mythologic demigods, I couldn't say. I do wonder about it, though. Thanks.

I find this question quite unsettling, but in reading it, I feel blessed knowing that in spite of great losses in my life, despite all the disappointments, despite all the personal and political dissolutionments, the "Fates" have not allowed this type of cynicism to creep into my own psyche. It's a grave time in history and my heart would go out to ANY President who has to make decisions with the precision and wisdom required of President Obama at this moment.  May the Fates guide him well for the sake of all of us.

We may hope so. Having seen him and his fanatical handlers at work for going on four years, though, I have to admit to an abundance of skepticism. Bless you, and thanks for commenting.
