Do you think that The Hobbit movies are going evoke the same feeling of awe and magic as the LOTR?
The Lord of the Rings movies is widely considered one of the greatest film trilogies ever, and as individual movies they are considered masterpieces by many. These films brought about a sense of magic and awe that most films can only dream of. Do you think that, with Peter Jackson back in the directors chair, The Hobbit will be able to achieve the same masterpiece level of film-making that the Lord of the Rings was able accomplish? Will Peter Jackson be able to evoke that same sense of awe and magic as before?
I think if it would have been a sooner release it might have but the awl from the LOTRs is diminished so it may not be as big as originally anticipated
I've seen the trailer and believe they might be even better. Jackson knows how to pick all those people who need to support a great film. I know it will live up to my expectations.
I agree. Jackson is a fantastic director and I'm glad that he had to eventually come in and take over as director. The movie is in good hands now.
I would think so. As long as Peter Jackson has the same ambition and vision that he had with Lord of The Rings, I think The Hobbit will be just as epic. I mean, look at how long it took Warner Bros/MGM to get this film off the ground. Jackson was at first ready to do it then had a falling out with the studios. Then Guillermo del Toro began pre-production based off the screenplay from Jackson, Phillipa Boyens, Fran Walsh and del Torro. Then del Torro left leaving MGM/Warner Bros to re-hire Jackson under his terms and conditions which I think is the better move. Without Jackson, I don't think that the films would have the same impact as the Lord of The Rings Trilogy. I like del Toro, but I don't think his vision would fit the world that Jackson created on film. Middle Earth would probably look different if del Torro helmed the project. I can't wait for these films to be released. Great question.
I would have rather seen what Del Toro would have done with Hobbit than what Jackson will do. As much as I enjoyed the Lord of the Rings films, there's no need for The Hobbit to be 3 movies.
I am kind of curious as to what del Toro would have done. It would have been interesting but I think the Hobbit needs to be in Jackson's hands since he did an incredible job with The Lord of The Rings.
There is if you want to spend less and make more.
except for the fact that the Hobbit barely has enough in it to fit into one film. That's why when they were going to do it as two Jackson had to go and add stuff from other stories that have nothing to do with the actual novel.
I think making three films was a great idea. They are hopefully going to stay extremely faithful to the novel, but I think the inclusion of other material will add to depth of the story, and the world that, at the end, we will have spent 6 movies in.

Why do similar movies come out at the same time?Have you ever noticed that movies come out in themes? Like one month its all about baseball and then the next its boxing. Even now two separate companies are making modern snow white films. Why?
