   Do you own a Tablet PC yet? Do you Plan to buy one soon?

   I have a plan. But it is expensive. I will try to buy a non brand Tablet PC instead.

   I own an Acer Iconia A500.  It is a pretty cool device that I use frequently.  Mostly I used it for reading & watching videos, etc.  I still need my PC to write articles, do my budget, etc.

   I own a Toshiba Thrive. I use it to mark up lectures at school and read my notes after I've made them on my laptop. It was a good investment, but now I believe it's a little too big for my tastes, and i'm thinking about buying the nexus 7.
   I think the older ones are actually getting a lot cheaper, while newer ones remain a little bit on the pricey side. Although companies are starting to shift to cheaper tablets, the majority are still very pricey.

   Don't have one, and don't really plan to get one anytime soon either. I find a laptop is much more useful, and although tablets are fun, new and very portable, the are not really useful for everyday tasks like writing articles or updating Excel/Word docs.
   
   I see them more like a entertainment gadget than anything else. I think you can certainly find reasons to prove their usefulness, but for me, a laptop is better at this time. It is fun to see technology advance, and I am looking forward to the cars that use a tablet pc for the dash.

   My main uses for a tablet would be email and as an e-reader since e-readers do not provide such a good experience.
   
   I find tablet screens too small and they are lacking in applications I need. Handwriting recognition would be great. Open office and Skype would be just about a minimum for me.  For the rest I would stick to a laptop.
   
   I would  hesitate to  buy an IPAD  for a number of reasons. One being Apple'S desire to lock everyone in to their infrastructure

   I have a netbook, which serves pretty much all of the needs a tablet PC would, and a little more.  It's hard for me to give up my real keyboard in favor of a virtual one.
   
   That said, I yearned so much for the "tablet experience" that I bought both a Nook Color and a Kindle (a bargain, refurbished, for $139...  Obviously these are primarily e-readers but they offer a lot of tablet functionality, especially the Kindle.
   
   At this point I think my 3 toys equal one table pc so no, I have no plans to spend money on an IPad or any tablet like it.  Interestingly, the cost of all 3 of my devices is still less than one IPad.

   I use an ipad to watch movies and sketch on.It is great for checking email on the go and generally surfing the web. I think for below $250 for the first gen ipad is a good investment.

   I'm Thinking about getting one, but one large enough to where I can comfortably see everything...some of the smaller tablets are barely bigger than my HTC 3D EVO phone. And between the phone and my laptop, a tablet for me is definitely more a "want" than a "need". Thought it would be nice to wake up and have hubpages on my tablet though......Gonna keep my eye on eBay for a deal, If I see one cheap enough maybe. Hmmm, actually, If I could buy a used one, play with it for a few months and resell.......
