The Firefox Problem

   I think it has now been long established that IE will consume your soul and return you to the great blue screen in the sky upon your death.
   
   Therefore, I use Firefox, which is a great browser for almost all my needs, but for some reason, when I create hubs on Hub Pages, they sometimes lose all formatting when I hit publish.
   
   When I say lose all formatting, I mean spacing, bolds, links, all gone.
   
   This only happens occasionally, (like, one in three hubs,) but it is utterly maddening. Is there really no way to make the Hub Pages editing interface Firefox friendly?

      I also use firefox and haven't experienced any problems publishing.

   You sure it's firefox? Could be some service you signed up for, like comment tracking.

   I use two versions of FF and do not have any issues...try enabling cookies and session cookies

      I also use Firefox on a Mac and have no problems. I also use Safari on my Mac and have no problems.

   I sometimes have similar problems.  Think i used to have such problems when I was using Firefox, but not when using Internet Explorer. 
   
   Now I use Opera I don't have problems anymore (have been using different versions of Opera for a while and so am unsure whether the Firefox problem I used to experience still exists).

    Wow. I totally thought it was a site wide problem. I've had it recur on multiple computers with multiple versions of Firefox. Weird.
    
    Oh well, if it's just me, then carry on then
    
    I'm using Windows XP, and currently Firefox 3.5, although I experienced similar issues in 3.0
    
    Could it be because I write my hubs in Open Office and then copy paste them over?

       Could be - In FF, it happens when pasting from Word sometimes also.

       Not site wide, but poeple do complain about having this problem now and then. So it's best to keep a safe copy of your writing. As always.

       I use OpenOffice/FireFox, albeit in Linux, and don't have any problems.
       
       If you have any FireFox Plugins, they could be causing the problem. It would be a good idea to disable them one by one, checking HubPages each time. Often when people have problems in FireFox, it is really due to a bad plugin.
       
       Like the above poster alluded to, you could also try to copy the text from OpenOffice to NotePad.  Then, copy it from NotePad to HubPages, which will get rid of any formatting and let you check if it is OpenOffice causing the problem.

          Actually, notepad won't allow that, because notepad is text only and doesn't allow any formatting such as bold, italic or otherwise. Once you have pasted text only into notepad, you have effectively taken any method of discerning what's happening in Firefox away.
          
          I have to say, just yesterday I discovered that I could no longer use the drag and drop feature for moving capsules in the side bar, and neither can I rearrange the order of hubs within groups. I cannot understand why as I have changed nothing in my browser.
          
          Anyone else having that problem?

             That is exactly the reason to do it.
             
             If he pastes it into Notepad, removes formatting, then pastes it into hubpages without any problems, then the problem is most assuredly coming from OpenOffice and not Firefox. Troubleshooting 101...

    Have you tried not writing them in Open Office?
    Text editors add code and tags sometimes which could be why you are losing formatting if tags are outside acceptable range of tags.

    I'm using an old version of firefox, I write in MS Word, copy and paste to Notepad then copy paste to Hubpages. No probs.

    Wow...I never realized so many people do the same thing.
    I write in notepad, transfer to Open Office to check spelling, word count and C&P straight into my Hub Page.
    I haven't had any problem and I use Firefox.
    Sounds to me like something is conflicting somewhere.
    Is all of your software updated?
    Clean all your caches etc?
