   Can you catch AIDS from a mosquito bite?
   
   Talk about sharing needles! If you share a mosquito with someone ill with AIDS, can you catch the disease?

   No you can't. HIV does not multiply and cant survive in a Mosquito. So the HIV could not be transmitted even if the Mosquito bites a person with the HIV infection.

   I do agree with the reply of Alphadogg16 .Actually if we can catch AIDS from a mosquito bite millions of people could have caught the disease.

      I tend to agree with you, but what if the mechanism for transfer is only a small percentage effective? Mosquitoes, of course, transfer other pathogens more effectively.

      You are right, the possibility may exists under certain conditions unknown to us at the time being .If that happened on a large scale, it will be a real disaster to the whole world.

   I worked in a Clinic years ago with patients of AIDS..Great question  what a way to get the info/ education regarding HIV Aids to the public..
   The mosquito injects it's saliva before taking in the blood of the
   " victim "...Because HIV does not multiply, nor survive in the mosquito, it will not ‘leak’ into any of the body fluids and will only stay in the blood meal and in the digestive channel of the mosquito. Hence, HIV cannot be transmitted though mosquito bites from one person to the next, even if a mosquito bites a person with HIV infection. Thanks for asking....

      It DOES NOT MULTIPLY IN the MOSQUITO..AS the insect's system is INCAPABLE of allowing the HIV virus to survive...it can only survive in the human system ...
