How critical is traditional feminine beauty for men who want to find serious relationships?

Women bend themselves into pretzels trying to become as close as possible to the current idea of beauty.  Should they continue to worry about diets, makeup, clothes, perfume, etc, or are there other things which trump good looks?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
Clearly a trip to any grocery store, mall, park, movies, or even church and you are likely to see people of (all shapes, sizes, and colors) who are paired up with mates. Therefore any woman who believes her "looks" are the reason she does not have a man is making up an excuse/reason to either blame men or put herself down.
The real issue is she (does not want) the kind of men she sees with other women who are (in her same league). This is also true of men as well. Everyone wants the "best looking/hottest person" they can attract.
The upside for unattractive men is there are lots of beautiful women who will date them if he is (rich, powerful, famous, or successful). By contrast there will never be a "female equivalent" of Hugh Hefner founder of Playboy Magazine, (a 83 year old denture wearing rich person) with a line of hot looking studs in their 20s waiting to sleep with her.
Most men are not interested in a woman's wealth. It doesn't matter to most men whether a woman is a doctor or a waitress if he considers her to be (hot/beautiful). A successful woman however is not likely date a restaurant bus boy who has no ambitions for the future.

Thanks for your input.  In my experience your comments ring true.  I recently read a book on Palm Beach scandals, and it was chock full of stories about how great wealth created some unlikely (and unholy) pairings.  You're definitely on point.

What is traditional feminine beauty ? Every woman has something interesting about her. She may not be beauty queen material but she can still be extremely attractive to some. In a word, beauty as such doesn't really matter, as the right man will find  his own patrner beautiful, even if the majority of others don't agree.

Beauty is a lie: it doesn't exist. There are just different forms with different colors and matters.

Women should just be themselves,  and give up that nonsense of make up and diets. Make up covers up who they really are and that is not what counts in the beauty of  women.  Every women is unique and has different features and are beautiful in their own special way
