Yes, Isabelle Reyes is about ot be 100 years old on Monday Nov. 5th. She has been fighting for her country, EL Salvador, after being deported once from her own homecountry when she was 22 and then not admitted to work later in the 1970s.

She is now the Health minister and in charge of health administration.

She now has a 17 month long period of government remaining and more plans for the future.
She has a bunch of memes in facebook talking about her adventures with dinosaurs, Christopher Columbus, and how she took care fo jesus crhist when he was born.
Overall she is a wise women full of energy and devoted to her county and the people who live in it. Happy 100 years old Ms. Isabelle!

The short answer is: Yes... Me

The long answer is: If it's down to the point where I look good as an alternative, then we're screwed.

    So..... we're screwed.....

That's exactly what I was going to answer! (the first part that is)
The point, for me is, that anyone voted to power is a puppet for those filthy rich pulling the strings and behind the scenes. I think you'd probably be more honest than some.

Though he'd have to run as a Republican. I think former Ohio State (and Youngstown State) coach Jim Tressel would be able to get elected as a Senator or Representative from  Ohio.

No, I don't know anyone personally who could lead a country. But I know that we need someone who will push their own interests aside and actually listen to the countries needs. It seems like the presidents nowadays only seem to be pursuing what they think themselves is the best possible course for this country. It's almost as if the leaders of the nation are deaf. What ever happened to the idea of popular sovereignty? The people know what's best and we need a leader who will listen to the peoples needs.

Bigger question, who of us acts according to high moral principle, has the courage to do so in the face of popular pressure, commands (not de-mands) respect, is supported by like-minded individuals, and can lead by example?

My country doesn't need to be led. It's a whole society full of leaders. Everytime someone tries to lead us, it causes problems. I'll say that I could probably randomly select any ordinary member of our society and put them in charge and he or she could probably make some very sound and reasonable decisions and sort out most of the problems we're facing in about 20 minutes.

just remember, ambition, power, and love to money corrupt men, not following limits will corrupt event eh most higher integrity men.
Just think of Andrew jackson and other presidents and governors, they all were the perfect leader but grew corrupt.

With respect for your views, I would disagree with your statement:  "Everytime someone tries to lead us, it causes problems."  I would suggest it's all those unthinking people who allow a bad leader to be chosen.

Jonnycome lately: when people complain about our politicians I sometimes remind them  people vote for people like themselves.  In the US Election this year  a lot of people say they distrust  Romney and think him a liar. But will still vote for him.

Old E, I am in the middle of reading Jefferson's biography, he is currenlty VA's governor during the Revolution.  I suggest you review that and try again.  He couldn't lead because of the Constitution he helped write - disaster enused and he knew it.

No, I wish I did, but at the moment, it doesn't seem to make much difference.  You could have the best president in the world or the worst and so long as the Congress is made of one side unwilling to compromise and the other side probably going down the same path in retaliation; it is mute.

American's have to make up their minds if they want an effective government or one that leads the country into the toilet via inaction.  If they want a goverment that is effective, they have to elect pragmatic Congressmen, not men and women who don't understand what that word means.

ONLY then will it make a difference who you chose as your leader.
