   I wish we could count on them but it seems no matter what, it is politics as usual.  I think if it were possible to set all of those thunderous egos on both side of the aisle aside and truly consider what is best for the common man - it might be possible.

   The "fiscal cliff" itself is the compromise worked out summer before last by the demwits and retardicans with Barack Obama's help. They're all busy blaming one another now and hoping we'll all forget that, but let's not. This shows what we can expect when they work together. Be careful what you ask for.

   Dems and Reps compromising  and working together to fix the budget? That would take a miracle. No, I don't think the country can depend on them. We need to do what Iceland did, and give control of our government back to the people. Maybe then, things will actually get better.

   It is like a giant circus of egos on both sides, but the Republicans seem to be making up for losing the Whitehouse at the countries expense. They need to get over it!
   
   The rich have had lower tax rates for years, where did it trickle down to other than their increased profits? Why isn’t the economy booming if lower tax rates on them is the answer?
   
   Personally I think the Republicans want to go over the cliff, because that way they are free of blame for the tax increase on the rich, and they are willing to sacrifice the rest of us just to show them whose side they really are on.  The entitlement cuts issues are just a ruse to get their way.

   I usually don't get into political discussions but I thought I might just this once.  I have zero faith in Obama, Congress and the committees.  I don't believe any of them CAN do anything to fix the budget! Besides that I don't believe that any of them really care one iota about the American people.

    the budget is the problem of the people for the people allow it.12 trillions of the 16 trillions dollars Bush Obama tax cut is 98% of the people getting a 20 billion dollars tax cut and the super rich 2% getting the 950 billions dollars tax cut a year and there share being spread to the rest of the people and on top of that ,The repeal of Glass Steagall which allow unregulated Wall Street Bankster to merge with heavenly regulated commercial banks and any lost the people paid for it and while this money grab is going on we the people playing politics,President Obama, the Senate and Congress are playing a shell game on the people will letting bankster, oil,big pharmaceutical, and Insurance rob us blind.and until the people wake up ans stop this( and we will , but we will be in a very very deep hole) it will keep going until all people going to be slaves to the rich, the corporation, and the Federal Government
