Why do you think we ask and answers questions on Hubpages?

Do we have to participate with questions and answers in order to make money on Hubpages.  Has it made a difference for you?

      Hi rutley,
Yes, I find questions that seem fun too--or at least somewhat sensible.

I do it because they give you little "achievements" for it. I like achievements.

      Hi Sapper,
That is great.  Do you know what the last "achievement" badge is?

I find it interesting and sometimes I really do have a question I want answered and other times I want to start an inquiry, and then at other times I have the answer to a question which I think will be helpful. Also, it helps keep your Hubber score up, and you need a score of at least 75 for your hubs to be indexed in the search engines. In addition, people will be aware of you on the site and might find interest in your Hubs.

      Hello NateB11,
I also enjoy knowing what others think about on certain questions…there are a lot great answers out there.

For the most part, I just find it an interesting thing to do. Sometimes, when I see a question that is generating a lot of answers about what to do about certain health issues, I will chime in with my usual get professional health suggestion. I also sometimes, but less frequently try to lend my view to the questions that insist that everything that is bad that has happened in the U.S. is a conspiracy lead by the government. i just do not buy that.

      Hello Larry Wall,
Isn't it interest what others think and the point of view they bring to a question. I also enjoy lending a cent or two to an answer.

I think we do it because the question/answer section allows us to get a quick view of others' perspectives.  We answer questions which interest us.  We answer answers which peak our interest, or have hit a nerve within us .  We ask questions when we really need answers, and can find comfort in knowing many hubbers are halfway across the world.  The answer may be more honest than a friend or family member would give because don't know you.

I think so too.  I love interacting with other Hubbers.  There are so many great Hubbers with ideas...plus I get a chance to view Hubs I might ordinary miss.   Thanks!
