Unfortunately, I am now on disability; but, when I worked I enjoyed my co-workers for the most part. Of course, there was always the odd one that I didn't quite mesh with; but, there are those that don't mesh with me. Go figure!
I think that liking your co-workers is a key to happy employment. There were times when I really hated my job and my manager, but I enjoyed seeing my colleagues and spending the day with them. Knowing that they were there and that I could chat with them made the day bearable. I have to add, when they moved on to other employment opportunities, I generally left shortly after.
Yes, its just me now. ~Bliss~
But previously yes and no. My last position was that of a HR Manager and while I may have liked some of the people that I worked with and desired to develop stronger friendships both at work and out of work, I had to be careful to maintain a professional distance, while still showing that I cared about them as a person and employee. I've had to let people go that I have liked. Decisions that I have sometimes disagreed with, coming from upper management especially those decisions that are designed to and not from a friendship angle, but from a ethical and business decision stand point. I am all for believing in people and providing them with proper training, support and equipment to do their job efficiently and effectively while having fun. Having to carry through with employment counseling which may lead to termination, makes this process very, very, difficult if your close to the colleague you are having the discussion with, so I've tried to maintain a healthy distance.
Yes, I actually do. They are highly entertaining and always are interesting to be around. Kelly is the fun one. I'm most similar to Chaz.
I did when I was in a traditional workplace. Now that I'm working mostly from home or teaching as an adjunct, I don't run into co-workers much. I don't miss the ones that were more difficult to work with. I really prefer to not have to deal with co-workers all the time. I enjoy working in the comfort and quiet of my own home with my furry friends. :-)
It's a big place where I work, and some I do, and Some I don't.
When I worked outside the home, yes, for the most part of the day I did enjoy working with others. However, I found the workplace to be far too social of a place to get much work done. I prefer working from home, getting more work done; setting social time so as not to interfere with work time.
