   No, the fiscal cliff must be avoided. What I have lost interest in is the politicians acting as children. If I can't have it ALL my way, I'm taking my ball and going home.

      I agree JThomp42. Apparently we have sent children to do business in Washington. My fear is that way too many people are turned off and tuned out. That leaves plenty of room for bad things to happen.

      Going over the physical cliff may cause young people to look at their pay stubs for a change. The hue and cry from this pay cut might awaken the sleeping giant.  Auto makers were too big to fail, yet the ones who are doing well got no gov. money

   The only people that still have interest in politics are the media houses. This is because their owners are intent on trying to convince the public of what they want. These elitists are part of a New World Order seeking control of not just all the worlds wealth but also control of the populace. To do this they need so called "democracy", it is by brain washing the public that will appear to do the public's wishes which is in fact their wishes. The masses must be hyped up on certain agenda, misled about the facts of that agenda, then the politicians will take action to supposedly appeasing the people but in fact legislating in favor of the NWO.

      I can't remember the last time that the media actually told the truth. Couple all the misinformation with the reality of our economic situation and that spells disaster. I have a very strong feeling that a lot of people have lapsed into apathy.

   I haven't lost my interest, but after the election, I have decided to take a step back as I know I am completely powerless to change anything. I am going to focus more on my God and my family. I just pray that America is as powerful as I believe and we will not be completely and permanently destroyed after another four years of the Marxist.

   Most definately.  Politics is a game "Hmm, what can I say today to make the public like me."  There is no challenge anymore.  Am I concerned with the issues in this country?  Most definately.

   Maybe taking a break..However, life goes on as usual...and that usual aint too good. We all should have watchful eyes...I think many feel helpless and just trying to survive and pay bills etc

      My question is....Nothing "happens" when we DO pay attention, pop.  When did we have any real voice or power against the powers that be?  If we pay attention, it only means we can see, hear and know that we're constantly getting screwed and in danger

   My interest is, as always, strong...but my faith in those elected on the national level to actually return to the Constitution as a framework for governing is at an all-time low. We have turned away from the Constitution and the Bill of Rights more and more over the past 6-7 decades. We have all but abandoned the 10th Amendment, and in doing so, have allowed the federal govenment a scope and size it was never intended to have. We must remain vigilant in holding their collective feet to the fire on both the local and national levels.

   I am extremely concerned about the effect of the games politicians play on the people of this nation.  I am very frustrated that, though I remain vitally interested in what is going on, I cannot trust that the news is the truth.  Without the truth, I feel like I am beating my head against a brick wall; that my frustration and concern is for naught.  We cannot change anything if we are forming ideas based upon lies. Today, the steady stream of misinformation cannot be accidental or simply human mistakes.  Since it is so pervasive, I feel there must be a purpose.  After all, if we collectively remain confused and consequently overwhelmed, reduced to fighting amongst ourselves with no resolution in sight, as are our leaders, are we not easily manipulated and, ultimately, controlled?

      Yes, Amy, I believe we are easily manipulated and ultimately controlled. It is not by accident that the media has become so bold in their distortion and suppression of the truth. Our nation is changing and not for the better.

   I don't think I've completely lost interest, but I do feel like I'm entering hibernation mode. I invested a lot in the election and kind of burnt myself out. I still have opinions about what is happening in Washington, but I'm not nearly as vocal. Now is the time for me to refocus on the things I was neglecting during the campaign season. I have high hopes for the next four years because, now that the president can't seek re-election, I feel like the mud slinging will die down a little. His opponents gain nothing from campaigning against him. The biggest headache will continue to be congress as it stumbles drunkenly, searching for the door to compromise and progress.

      Many people feel the same way you do, but I feel that now is not the time to lose focus. Obama doesn't have to worry about re-election so I fear that he will enact many things, in his own way, that will hurt us in the short and long run.

    I am totally disgusted with politics and even more so with behavior in Washington on both sides of the aisle. I am shocked to see so many Americans who fall for the line that wealthy people are the cause of our own woes. They accept anything but responsibility for their own fate and they cast their vote for a man running a welfare train to fuel the fires of class envy while he slowly dooms those still willing to work to a descent into poverty.  I cannot believe how quickly Americans embrace socialism while not recognizing and how easily they trade away freedom and liberty for the empty promises of the current president. In light of that, what is left to say that will change the outcome? ~WB

       Wayne, my fear is that Washington is counting on our disgust, or should I say Obama is. He is poised to enact anyway he can legislation that will cripple us in so many ways. This is his chance to "change" us in hideous ways.

    I am regrouping because I was so deeply disappointed not only that this guy could get re-elected but that the supreme court doesn't have our back by allowing the obamacare obamination and the senate and house have sold us down the river by mortgaging our children and grandchilden.
    
    So where do you turn now?
    
    The safeguards that were put there by the founding fathers have been tromped on because we the people became complacent and lazy. And its going to take years to turn around, if ever, because it seems that the majority of the people want this.
    
    And that is very disheartening. Because by the time everyone wakes up it may be too late.

    No, I have not lost my interest; although I feel that our current leaders are not willing to work together, and that is very frustrating.  I only wish I could do something to motivate them, but I don't know what to do.
