Why do we wait until the end of the year to make resolutions?
How about new day resolutions instead?
It's easier to reflect back over the course of a year than it is a single day in one's life. Even corporations have quarterly reviews and annual reviews. I can't think of many goals where the strategy is to measure one's accomplishments on a daily basis. Even with weight loss most programs will tell you weigh yourself (once a week) instead of daily.
You have to give a plan (some time) to see if it will work. Changing directions based upon the pervious day's events would drive most people crazy! Maybe 90 day resolutions would make sense on a personal level. :-)
Great points dashingscorpio. Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year
Great question Renee. That is precisely why I do not make them. As a child of God I should be striving everyday to be the person God wants be to be. We can only strive of course. We are only human in this flesh that continues to sin. But, to strive daily is my resolution everyday.
It seems ideal to have a fresh start at the beginning of the new year. Everything in the previous year is in the past, and that makes moving forward a little easier. Really though, we don't have to wait to the new year because everyday is a new day and can have a fresh start. Yesterday is gone.
Thanks for stopping by Crissylite. Resolutions are a fresh start - I like your way of looking at it. Keep hubbing and happy new year!
