great question. I met mine when we were working together. He had chicken pox then. He was badly scarred with the pox and nobody wants to go near him. Guess our bond went well.

I was 18, working in a bank and my supervisor told her she had just the guy for me, her son's best friend.  I told her I had a boyfriend. One weekend the boyfriend broke up with me and I was heartbroken.  I very dramatically told the gal on the following Monday that she could introduce me to "this guy" as I no longer had a boyfriend. (such drama!)

She gave him my number and he called and almost 4 months later we married - and are still married 42 years later.  Guess it was meant to be.

Wow...4 months later you married? Well, I shouldn't sound too surprised because I did the same thing, except 6 years later we divorced.

At least you had the guts to get back out there right away instead of getting depressed. Good for you.

I'd just started working at my second job [Taco John's] and the manager told me that there was a group of gamers who come in every Monday at 9p.m.  They called them the 'Monday Night Freaks' but I needn't be alarmed...they were nice.

Well, we called out the customer's name when their order was up back then and they had all decided to give gag names like Major Pain, Big Fat Happy Buddha and my future honey went by Beelzebub. So when their orders came up, I called their names. They all got a kick out of that.

I saw them every Monday for 1 1/2 years and my honey finally asked my manager if I had a boyfriend and wanted to know if I'd be interested in going out with him. But he didn't actually ask me out for another month and a half.

Good thing too...I was so shy then that if he'd asked me face to face I would have panicked and said no. By making me wait, I became more impatient than anxious. When he finally asked me out I said "Yes, and about time too!"

We were married 11 months later and have been together almost 10 years now.
