6 year old child has rotten teeth
My child's two front teeth are rotten / decay but not painful at all. Seems that the enamel are chipping off and the black teeth are obvious. Should I seek for dentist advice or let them come off by themselves? These are the 1st of teeth.
Absolutely get a dentists advice. Tooth decay can get into the root or into the jaw bone if left untreated. Why risk his/her health? A quick check with your dentist will give you all the info you need to make that decision.
it may be another year before they fall out..I would check with a dentist..
thanks. Dentist will be earning my money for years.
I have heard dentist say that they use the condition of the baby teeth to make predictions for the permanent teeth. Weaknesses in the baby teeth can tell about potential weaknesses and dental issues in the future. It is best to check it out as soon as you can.
Teeth also can be used to predict health and nutrition deficiencies. I would look into your child's calcium absorption and such. Mentioning it to your primary doctor certainly can't hurt.
Premature dental work, if needed, can be a topic that is a little scary. If you doubt anything you are told be sure to get a second opinion.
Baby teeth (or primary teeth) are just as important as permanent (or adult) teeth. They should be well cared for, and the best way to take good care of them is through good nutrition. Children who eat a diet of healthy, nutritious food generally do not have problems with dental decay. Sadly, many children's diet nowadays leaves a lot to be desired. Junk food (and this includes not only fast food from McD's and the like, but also any processed food high in white sugar and white flour) is very damaging to both primary and permanent teeth.
Pain will not be felt until the nerves are affected (either exposed or inflamed) but don't wait for that to happen. Go see a dentist, change to a more nutritious diet (plenty of fresh fruit and veggies) and research the findings and recommendations of Dr Weston Price. I would also highly recommend Vit D supplementation in the form of cod liver oil.
Also, if this is to be his first visit, check out my hub on Your Child's First Visit to the Dentist to make sure he has a non-traumatic first visit. Hope this helps.

How to I stop my son from chewing food with his front teeth? He predominently chews food with his front teeth and they are showing significant signs of wear. He will be losing his baby teeth soon and I am concerned that he will damage his adult teeth by continuing to chew with his front teeth.
