Do you think that Omega 3 or fish oil pills have healthy effect on our body?
Are these worthy to be purchased and used. Some companies who sells these Omega 3 and fish oil tablets say that these are very useful for brain, bones and reduce the risk of heart diseases. Is there any truth in that. Some doctor or pharmaceutical expert please tell.
I have read some very good things about them... but why not visit the Mayo Ckinic website...they have a good reputation. These capsules take a few weeks before you get teh benefit and they are expensive too.Eat foods with them is like oily fish ..salmon etc... probalby better
I've had very good results with them.
It's also a good idea to make sure you're getting enough vitamin D when you're taking them, too.
Absolutely! Omega 3 or fish oil has so many wonderful benefits from reducing inflammation, reducing bad cholesterol levels, and even promoting loss of body fat. Not only have I studied medical and nutrition journals about this, but I have experienced it myself. Just make sure you take one that is organically purified like Carlson's.
While there has been a substantial amount of research on omega-3 supplements and their efficacy in preventing heart disease, recent analysis of the results of these studies did not find convincing evidence that omega-3s protect against heart disease.
If you still want to spend your money on them, I would also want to know what the source is. What kind of fish is it from? (Big fish accumulate more toxins than little fish with shorter life-spans) Was the fish wild or farmed? (Farmed is bad because of antibiotics in fish feed and contamination of wastes due to close proximity). Where did the fish live? (Atlantic is way more polluted than Pacific or Alaskan).
More to the point, supplements are just that. They are meant to SUPPLEMENT and not REPLACE a healthy diet. We should not be relying on a pill for health, be it for the heart or any other organ system. We should be eating healthy and avoiding junk. No amount of supplements will prevent disease if you eat a crappy diet and don't exercise and don't manage your stress.
For years the benefits of eating fish has been praised by scientists as a way to keep your brain healthy, and fish oil, or mega 3 pills are filled with the same goodness.
