   Have you ignored a friend request on facebook even though you knew the person to some degree?
   
   Have you had friend requests on Facebook from people you have met briefly or went to school with many many years ago or was an ex partner from way back and you never ever had contact with them since the break-up?  did you ignore their friend request?  how did you deal with it?

   I think we need not ignore friend request and that too in the virtual world. It is not going to harm you anyways. Have you ever heard of enemy request. If yes decline it immediately. I do not know Obama personally and I assure I will accept the friend request from him immediately - only condition is that he should be real Obama without fake ID. If one can accept friend request from Obama then why not from any other real individuals. I have already suggested the Facebook administrator to delete all Fake ID so that we can deal with real people in the virtual world. Try making friends with enemies if they request for friendship.

   Yup, I do it all the time. There is nothing wrong with it. Just because someone sent a friend request I have to approve? I don't like that analogy. What if I don't want that person viewing my personal info?

      I agree.  I have a friend who just received, not one, but TWO requests from a man she met 14 years ago. She only knew him a very short time (3 months) as he had serious anger management issues. Why whould he think she wants to be his FB friend?

   I usually try not to ignore people, networking is important.  But some people are just nosy.  I ignored my aunt when she sent me a friend request on Facebook, because I knew she was just trying to be my friend to get my mother angry at the time (they were arguing).

   Yes I have, as well as receiving friend requests from my work place from people I don't associate with work.  I will either ignore the request, or accept their friend request but add them to my "Restricted" friends list - So that they appear as my Facebook friend but they can only view information on my profile that I make available to the general public (Only my profile photo).
