What keeps you from visiting Paris?

I am specifically looking for reasons or barriers people have to visiting Paris. I write about visiting Paris a lot and know many people would like to visit but feel it's somehow out of their reach.

Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I cannot imagine why anyone would not want to visit.

Money problems, and I don't want to go on a trip while pregnant. No large trips for me until my child is potty trained. Just weekend trips at near locations for now.

Aside from the cost which for us is prohibitive, it would be getting on a plane.  I am absolutely terrified of flying, never had and at my age, I doubt it will happen.

Yes, the fear is difficult. The cost isn't as much as most people think. I usually plan 2 years out and save the money. But it 's good to understand things I need to address on my website as I want to address common things that hold people back.

I have no intention of putting up with the horrible way that airport security treats people, and I certainly can't swim that far.

That's a bummer you've had negative experiences. I've been to Paris 5 times since 9/11. Only problem I've had was when I forgot to empty a water bottle, my bad. The French are no problem. I hate CNN blaring in passport control on my return to the US.

and not to mention how the US customs treats all Europeans as potential immigrants... it's worse the other way around!
