Does anyone really know how to use Pinterest for social networking?
I know many have talked about Pinterest but has anyone found the silver bullet to get views and have success.
Try reading Wrylilts hub How to Generate Traffic Using made for Pinterest Images: http://wrylilt.hubpages.com
It is supposed to be sharing what interests you with your friends and family. But honestly, I just use it for what interests me. My friends have horrible taste.
Pinterest is a social site which you are given the opportunity to share your photos and promote some links for your articles. Some of the writers and photographer used it for promoting there works
In pinterest you share the pic to friends, by just upload a new pin. With image you also add some text with link. If you want to take added advantage of pinterest then you to verify your website in pinterest.
Pinterest is one of the platforms that works the best for me as far as views / visits. Here are a few things that I have found:
Pinterest is image driven, so you want to make sure that you have a clear and interesting photo to "pin". I have noticed that the two most popular categories are women's fashion and recipes / food. Right behind that would be DIY articles. Users will only click on something that looks interesting, so if your image is blurry or irrelevant the odds are it won't get much traffic.
Sometimes the above mentioned means you cannot just pin from your website / hub; you need to upload a custom image. You can do this by "adding" a pin. The part that people tend to forget is to add the URL. It is set up now where you need to go in and edit the pin after it has been posted and add the URL. If you want views, adding the URL is the most important part of the process. Have you ever clicked on a pin to read more and it goes nowhere; it just enlarges the image?
Add a quick and relevant description with your pin. If you are pinning for personal amusement, "I would do this" will work for a description. If you want it to be "repinned" a description like "easy 15 minute chicken meal with just 4 ingredients" will work better.
Last - join group boards. Pin to group boards that will have a 5K+ following and you will start to notice more repins and board followers.
I don't drink, giggle, giggle . . . a Coors light in olden days was termed a silver bullet. And too you may want that Dracula or Werewolf to pin you pins - just kidding, a mood thing now.
the secret I learned is to get involved at the group level. You can get more specific with groups. Like if you write about gaming join a gamers group board. Or, I am in a nail group if I remember right. I like nail art for odd reasons, hurrmpph, enough said. Anyway, I pin articles to that group too. I leave comments at some of the nail art as time allows. Some of them are really hot and some too are like tattoos being very creative and artistic. They in return are maybe just kind to me and repin my hubs that I pin there.
I have converted a couple boards to group boards. I had one with the name Jessica and had a couple pins with Jessica Rabbit in it. Over the next 3 months my email box was flooded with pins to that group.
Remember they discover you as not just as a pinner of pinterst yet a host of a group sharing. And, of course the board is yours so, whalaaa they are at your home board site. Then comes next and I dun'no.
I haven't got it all figured out yet. I heard tell through the rumor mill once you get the hang of the how it blows facebook away. Just rumor. Something about you don't have to keep making friends to gain exposure. I don't know maybe same=same. I haven't tried joining any groups at facebook other than H.O.W. and that is specific. Then again so is music Epigramman has a music group at FB. I think it includes cinema too. A rather large group I hear.
I joined one Marine Corps group being loyal to my dad being a career Marine. I got a couple messages, just a few, at FB from Afghanistan. Especially for the article I wrote about my dad being a Career Marine.
There are a ton of sports groups - male, female, and coed. I keep thinking of posting to the Dallas Cowboy group I am in, maybe post something. You never know. Maybe a group connected in high school. My niece reads my work sometimes and I got a couple views from an article I wrote she share at the high school board.
I really haven't worked at social media for capitalization yet. I bought a book on SEO and it is about 3rd in a pile. I have a book sent by a friend about how to quit smoking - giggle or hint, hint - LOL. I got one given to my by my chiropractor too. Oh yeah, I posted a health article at her business FB page once.
Oh well, I drifted, oopps. Remember to smile and have fun, fun, fun
