Do you have any good time management tips?

I always find myself working overtime..and some tips on how to manage my time during the day would be great - it would make me more efficient. And I would have more time left over for hub writing!

Get a self-help book. The Procrastinator's Handbook is a personal favorite that helped me kick my butt into work. Now, I don't just make goals, I achieve them. Also, give yourself more motivation. Have a piece of paper on the wall of your bedroom or office, somewhere you can easily see it often, and write down or type up all the goals you have for the next three months. When you see them, you are reminded of them. But the best part is to draw a red line through the name of each one you finish! As time goes on, more will be crossed off which not only gives you a self-esteem boost but motivates you to get more done!
Also, a huge factor of time management consists as planning. Sit down every week for one hour and plan your week. What will be for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for each day (even Saturday and Sunday)? By having these written down you have something to look forward to each day when you are driving home. You can also pull out the recipe at this time and write down all the ingredients you don't have on your grocery list so you won't have to drive to the store one night when you realize your out of milk. If the task of cleaning your house is overwhelming, do two or three things per day to keep your house tidy and organized without over-exerting yourself.

Thank you Iburmaster, those are some really good tips:) I will definitely check out that book as well! I really like the motivational element and I will put that into practice - it is good to be able to track progress.

Using effective project management or task management software can be a great help.  Not only do they assist you in planning and allocating your resources, but they also allow you to track your work.

I personally use a freeware program called ToDoList.  It helps me stay on track and locate areas where I may be spending more time than necessary.

There are, of course, many other free and paid options.  Many work from the cloud.  Conduct a Google search for the term "project management" and you will be sure to find one that suits your needs.

Hi Marisaupa! I will have a look at ToDoList - For my smartphone I currently use a calendar/note app but I would prefer it if it had more useful features. Thanks for your answer!
