I will say Bill Clinton. While he had his personal struggles, as a president he was the perfect combination of tenacious and charming. Not only that but I feel like he understood policy and public opinion. If he could run again, I think he'd dominate.

I don't particularly want to meet any of them.  But if it was very convenient, I'd probably go for the present one, Barack Obama.   I think Obama - not now, of course, nobody really appreciates a US President when he's in power - will go down in history a few decades from now as one of your very best.

I don't know a much about any of America's Presidents, though I'm generally aware of those who have lived - and are still living - in my life time F.D Rooseveldt, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon et cetera.    It took Jimmy Carter to get America out of Vietnam.  I see him as a very good man.

Bill Clinton?  How can you not like the guy?   As Alecia Murphy says, he has "charm."

As for the two Presidents - father and son - who both ordered an invasion of Iraq...well, I'm not very impressed with either of them.

Still, this is just an 'outsider's' opinion.

If I could only chose one, it would have to be Thomas Jefferson. The words he wrote to create the Declaration of Independence has been a blueprint seeking to free themselves from oppression.

In his presidency, he showed that he had a vision and a power to delegate. He saw the need for the United States to control the port of New Orleans. He sent two envoys to meet with Napoleon to negotiate a sale and they cam back with all the land drained by the Mississippi River, better know as the Louisiana Purchase.

He had his flaws, as history has shown, but I do recall a quote from President Kennedy was hosting an event to honor the poet Robert Frost. The room was filled with brilliant people from many walks of life. President Kennedy said that the collective intelligence in that room was probably only exceeded when Thomas Jefferson was President.

We have had many great presidents, some good presidents, some ineffective and some just useless. Jefferson set a standard that has been hard for most of his successors to meet.

I'd have to go with President Madison. He, more than any other framer, was responsible for the way our constitution was written.

I would have to say our first President, George Washington. I would like to ask him so many questions, as well as to see if he has wooden teeth or not. smile

Barack Obama! He is such a great president and any man with that much power and can wear the hell out of a suit, I want to meet him. His work towards making us an equal and better nation, with education and benefits gets top honors with me. I feel that he really does care for the American people and he shows that with his actions, he's not just talking about it, he's actually making the moves to get things done.
