Do rising gas prices impact your summer travels?

In Chicago, gas is about $4.40 a gallon. It seems that high gas prices have become the norm.  Have the rising prices impacted your vacation or travel plans? If not, will they this summer?  Have we simply just grown accustomed to rising prices?

No, my family and work schedule kind of put the downer on my travels. There is always a way to save on trips, it's just finding the time to take one.

Work has a way of doing that. So what do you guys do? Do you plan fun things to do around your house?

Three day weekends are the main attraction. We used to go camping but now with our son we drive to New Orleans to see my family, catch up with his friends in Dallas, the riverwalk in San Antonio, etc. Plus there is plenty to do here on Saturdays.

Ouch that is high. We are in Montana and it hasn't reach that price - yet - but we don't travel. Everything we love is right here, kids, grandkids, trees, wilderness. No reason to leave, or no desire to anyway.

Very high! Thanks so much for your comment. I'm told Montana is a touch of heaven. One of my college friends moved there away from our home state and never returned.  Thankfully I found her on FB  2 yrs ago.  Do you ever plan to (bucket list) travel?

No, but I feel for you.  Just keep in mind more than 62 cents on every gallon is tax.  That account for the difference between states.  We have it worse here in NY.   69 cents a gallon.
